This restaurant is new, but the owner also has another restaurant in Port Isabel, so he has experience. Food is very good mexican food - prices are good. Worth stopping and trying.
Co-owned and operated by the Executive Chef Alejandro Lopez, Poke Ceviche strives to be THE PLACE to get the best ceviche all around the coast of Texas. Small joint, big hearts, bold flavors, and great stories are behind every corner of Poke Ceviche.
We loved having fresh ceviche made to order! They were willing to customize any order to add or subtract any options or spices. We tried the 4 sample option & then the full order of the Ahi Tuna ceviche. It was a lot of food! Highly recommend the Fruit of the Sea, Chipotludo & the Summer Blossom (Ahi Tuna). They were our favorites. The sauces made the flavors of the ceviche! We live in MN had had to make the stop before our flight home. We were very impressed with our service & food. My 7 & 4 yr olds even enjoyed the Fruit of the Sea. Who knew seafood & fruit were a great combination!
This market offers a special taco meat ($8/lb) they make that is available only on weekends. It comes with the meat, toppings, and 8 fresh tortillas. There is a drive through window - how easy could dinner be? We took the meat home and stored it in the refrigerator until evening. Then we heated it up in the microwave. Our first clue to a problem should have been the grease. It was swimming in fat. My 85 and 88 year old parents and I got violently ill 2 hours after eating this meal. We had nothing else with it. We were sick for 36 hours but not feeling well for days after that. We will never eat there again.I called to report it to the manager or owner but they just said one wasn't available and took my telephone number. No one ever called me back.

Port Isabel, Texas, has many Mexican food restaurants to choose from. This one is a little above average. The service is quick and accurate. The portions were generous. The shrimp was very fresh and prepared properly. It is a large restaurant with room for lots of guest. Not high on my list of places to try, but was convenient.

Get the all you can eat fish ($8.99) or all you can eat shrimp ($13.99) or all you can eat fish and shrimp for $11.99. OMG its good. First..the cole slaw is great, the fries are really nice. But the fish and shrimp are excellent. Fresh. Get it grilled, fried, blackened or garlic. I've tried blackened and fried. My husband has had it grilled and blackened. We go back often. I've also had their fajitas, very good. Hole in the wall type atmosphere, wait staff is okay, nice but don't expect them to kiss your you know what. They serve you and that's about it but that's okay with me. When you are done go out the door and turn left and walk over to their bakery. Kind of a strange set up and if no one is there, get the tongs off the counter and put them on one of the trays. they'll come out and ring you up. HUGE pastries for like 75 cents. The really big ones are a whopping $1.00. They would go for $4-5 each at starbucks or some other coffee shop. crazy good

We are right on the corner lot across the street from Double Days Sports Bar. Under new Owners, but still that great food and management. Come see us!
Known for Authentic Mexican Breakfasts and known for having a full house! Jam packed cafe during the mornings... Thats because this place is worth the wait! Delicious Mexican breakfasts and massive, over-sized, delicious flour tortillas! Not sure what to get, get a morning taco from here... Its big enough for two! The dish its served on can barely contain the taco!

We were referred here by a waitress at another restaurant. She said if you like big tacos you have to try Manuelâs. We were seated promptly when we arrived. The waitress came by and took our drink and food order. The kitchen is small so expect a wait. They had a bowl of hot sauce on the table. We asked for some chips while we waited for breakfast. But unfortunately they hadnât made any chips. We had omelets, scrambled eggs and large tacos. Everything was great. We hope to make it back while on this trip.
