This is a nice small neighborhood restaurant with a good selection of sushi and freshly cooked food. If you like sushi go during happy hour. It is a great deal. I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal.

I hate to say sometimes we just are not looking for what's right under our nose. We have been back in Clear Lake two years and pass this establishment quite often. It's in a stop center, so easy to miss. We met another family for dinner. Friendly service, good food, and decent noise level for a hibachi grill. My son knows sushi and said it was decent. We never felt rushed and had a lovely evening. The servers catered to the grandchildren. Prices were reasonable. A great evening was had by all ages 1 to 70. We will definitely be back soon.

Another great meal at Sushi Coast. The salmon sashimi was fantastic, the salmon eggs were very fresh and the rainbow roll was great as well

We have eaten here for years and it is consistently the freshest, tastiest sushi we have ever eaten. The tuna tartare is excellent as well as the ceviche. All of the rolls are creative, well plated, and delicious. If you love authentic sushi, you will love Masa.

Samurai Japanese SteakStill searching for the ultimate Hibachi/Teppenyaki, or at least the one that stands atop of the rest. As with other my reviews (these are one of my favourite type of restaurants)... I've been to quite a few different restaurants (Benihana, Kobe, MT Fuji...) so they're all along the same vein of Japanese steakhouses.Parking is limited at the end of a strip mall. The quality of the show depends on the chefs' enthusiasm and whether their audience are eagle-eyed kids ready for a show which is typically predictable with the knife & metal spatula twiddling, egg breaking, volcano smoking, choo-choo train whistle et al. The cook, food and service were fair. The Chef wasn't feeling it today and rarely said a word; our group sat at the grill were unimpressed with the show. The entrée on Hibachi Specialities menu are served with onion soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, hibachi vegetables, and steamed rice. The soup and salad are forgettable - barely any flavour and dressing respectively. The supplementary cost of the fried rice instead of the (included) white rice seems a bit chintzy to charge an extra $2.50 - how much does browning rice cost - it surely isn't because of the talent required to brown it on the grill. We ordered for some Soba noodles to go with our main entrées - the noddles were disappointing in flavour as well. My gf loved the shrimp and she got mine as well. The waitress that got the drinks and checked on the tables was very attentive. On the good side even-though you pay for it - the serving sizes were large; reasonable prices for the Banzai's choice - steak and chicken @$21, & Hibachi chicken @$15 > final bill $56.

Originally planned on going to the Ichibon in Kemah, but they are closed. This was the closest to us at the time so we tried it out.Great performance from Diego, and the food was cooked perfectly. Even though the place was super packed, we got a table fairly quickly. All the staff is friendly and ready to serve. We'll be back for sure.

When deployed for months on end by a government agenc I usualy visit all buffets at least once. For many of them once is enough. However this particular one, although of not the most inviting exterior or parking lot (lots of potholes etc.) has an nice interior an a good selection of sushi and Chinese food. The table service is efficient and although not offering a senior discount prices are reasonable. Not a bad Buffet type place if that is what you are looking for but be prepared to do a little hop, skip and jump routine around the serving counters...â¦.the aisles widths between are meant for skinny, real skinny people!

We had a large celebration dinner here, and the restaurant was fine for that -- large table and a pleasant waitress. Service was good enough, with glasses filled and drinks delivered as needed. The food was nothing special, but overpriced. The sushi was just okay-- fish was not extraordinarily fresh. The menu included a lot of oddball offerings that are not traditional sushi, but, rather, combinations intended to appeal to folks who don't know much about sushi. Tempura was heav and unappealing. Overall the food was a disappointment. The restaurant is on the expensive side for the mediocre quality of the food. I usually eat elsewhere for way less for much better sushi. Our party had a good time here, but the food left a lot to be desired for those of us who had spent time in Japan or in more ambitious sushi bars.

We've eaten here at Jinya three times now, and enjoyed it every time. The menu includes mostly noodle bowls with chicken, pork, beef or shrimp. There are several delicious appetizers as well. We've tried the tempura brussel sprouts and the tempura shrimp, and they are both crispy and flavorful. I tried the spicy shrimp ramen bowl, and added kikurage (brown ear) mushrooms, tofu, and spinach to it. They have a nice bar, but a very limited wine menu. But we still managed to find a good Chardonnay here as well. They are usually playing a mix of Japanese fusion music, which we enjoyed. As customers come in and out of the restaurant, the wait staff yell something in Japanese, which I guess is like a universal "Welcome"; very funny. While there are some booths, most patrons sit at a very long community table. The average age of the majority of customers was in the 20's and 30's, so we are a little over their target market, I guess. But the service has been excellent, on each of our visits. Definitely recommend, if you love Japanese fusion food.
