The only negatives were that our reservation did not mean anything and the restaurant is extremely loud. We arrived on time and waited for 30 minutes. The restaurant was extremely busy, but there were open tables, which was annoying. The meal was great as were the drinks. The arugula and avocado salad was fresh, the margherita pizza was cooked perfect with a crispy crust, and the short rib pasta was great.

On December 26, 1986, The Original Carrabba's opened its doors. Today, Johnny Carrabba and his family are proud that the two original locations on Kirby Drive and Voss Road remain family owned and operated neighborhood restaurants. What makes us unique ar
While visiting Houston for (another) bridge tournament, our GPS pointed us towards two Carrabba's restaurants about equally distant from our Westchase location. We braved the traffic to arrive at the "original" Carrabba's and wish we hadn't. The place was too busy to care about our request for a quiet(er) table, and refused to seat us at a booth or table near the far end, which was quieter, because 1) the manager had reserved the table, and 2) the booth could hold more than the two of us.So we sat and looked at the menu, thinking it would be similar to the franchised Carrabba's we have always liked. It had many of the same dishes, priced about 20% (or more) higher than the franchises, and did not include soup or salad, both of which would add significantly to the bill. So we left, and drove to the other Carrabba's and had a lovely, peaceful meal in a booth, with great food and service, at about 40% less (with soup or salad included).

We live in the Jersey Village area in northwest Houston. Their first store was our go-to location until they built in Tomball. Don't get me wrong, the food and service is outstanding at both but the JV cafe is small and we were always packed in tight. Tomball is open and comfortable. Now, back to the title...the first food set on the table could be my last meal. Their Garlic Rolls are hot, fresh and huge with butter on the table make them better. I recommend you ask for the olive oil dip (not put on the table unless asked for) and go to town with creating the ultimate appetizer. Separate the bread and lay flat. Spread a little butter and then spoon the oil (contents to follow) generously and top with the parmesan cheese which is on the table. I like to sprinkle a little black pepper and then devour it like a bear's first meal coming out of hibernation. The olive oil is warm with capers, seasonings and chili peppers cooked into it and truly a meal to itself. Although my favorite dish is the Adriatic Special which is chicken, Italian sausage with peppers and onions in an alfredo sauce with a little marinara added to give color, we had their pizza. Hand made and to order any way you want. Just build your own and enjoy. The people are friendly from entrance to exit and this place is highly recommended.

With a lively, festive atmosphere that's reminiscent of a neighborhood trattoria, La Griglia is located in the River Oaks area of Houston, offering an enticing display of authentic Italian dining, complete with colorful Italian murals and artful cuisine.
Not only was the food amazing so was our waiter... Mr. Purdie always made sure we had everything we needed and was very punctual but not overbearing with his visits to our table.

The Short version. Joe and I (Maria) moved to Houston in February of 2012. After a long weekend visit which we spent in The Woodlands in January of 2012, we decided to make a move, very spur of the moment. After returning from our visit, it only took a fe
We had a group of six and sat outside. We all had the special which was the gargonzola crusted ribeye. It was very good!Pros: Our waiter was great, the steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. The steaks were thick and juicy. Asparagus was also very good.It was a cool evening so the weather was perfect (that wonât last!). Cons: Price - the bill for food and a couple of drinks each was over $300. Other than that none. All in all a great dining experience!

I was pleasantly surprised how great this place is! It's not in an area of town that is known for great restaurants. The food was delicious! It is also very nicely priced for a Houston restaurant, especially one so good!

Enjoyed our mini high school lunch reunion on Saturday 2/9/19. The restaurant accommodated my request for a secluded table so we could enjoy catching up with friends. The service was great and the brunch menu was wonderful. Would definitely return for a small or large group gathering! Thanks for a great time Brio.
