Tried this place for the first time today after mass and it was wonderful! I had the Texas plate with 2 enchiladas, rice, beans, carne guisada, and guacamole. My husband had the Mexican plate with 2 enchiladas, 1 taco, rice and beans. It was all very delicious! Both plate were more expensive than other Mexican restaurants at $9.?? A plate, but understandable since this place has a great lake view and high taxes to go with it. Iâm looking forward to hanging out on their back deck with a cold drink on our next visit. The service was good. Good help is hard to come by in Canyon Lake so this was unexpected.

This small restaurant offers budget conscious meals. The entrees fill the big plates. Being from Minnesota, I'm used to different Mexican food. Perhaps this is "authentic" Mexican but I found the food to be uneventful. My sister was disappointed with her beef taco salad. The beef was watery and that water soaked through the tortilla shell and onto the plate. My cousin (who lives in Texas and loves Mexican food) was also not happy with her food. Same watery ground beef.The entrees all come with a spoonful of guacamole and sour cream, rice and refried beans. We got cold fried corn chips and a tasty salsa before the meal. My Texan cousin told us the chips should be hot, freshly taken from the oil.The staff are friendly. You pay at the register.Because of the above comments, I am giving an average rating.

I looked up breakfast spots on TripAdvisor and saw the great reviews. We traveled about 15 minutes to get to the restaurant only to find it closed.

I'm sure this place is better than average because I saw a lot of people walk away from empty breakfast and lunch plates. Our party of three did not do the same because of review title. Will give them another shot, with specific request for eggs to be soft scrambled.
