Everybody loves an original, and you're not likely to find too many things more original than this. It would be an understatement to call the Goode Company Barbeque on Kirby a Houston institution. It's a tradition that has stood the test of time.
Stopped here for lunch and it was fantastic. We shared the two meat dinner plate. The brisket and sausage were very good, and the potato salad melted in your mouth. As good as the BBQ was, to me, the star of the show was the pecan pie! Oh my, the best pecan Iâve ever had, hands down. I would definitely return here.

Established in 1977. This is the place, a real authentic Texas cafe. Hickory Hollow has been serving exceptional Texas comfort food with Texas hospitality since 1977.. We're best known for traditional Texas-style barbecue and chicken fried steak and have
Self-seating and serving. Chicken fried steaks (CFS) are some of the best in the state. The gravy is a thicker, yellow type so be aware if you are expecting a more traditional white gravy. It's great on the potatoes. Be aware that the "Large Rancher" CFS needs to be labeled super-large. I have seen multiple people order it thinking "I can handle it" and their eyes pop out when its delivered on a pizza pan with steak falling over the edges. My 10-year old loves the mashed potato bites because they are spicy and I love the grilled zucchini as a healthy choice over starchy mashed potatoes or fried options. Met a friend here for lunch. Be warned this place is wall to wall people during lunch and parking could be difficult and itâs noisy I mean ear ringing noisy. I would recommend visiting after the lunch rush, regardless it was totally worth the noise because the food was superb.

We didn't actually eat at the restaurant but ate it at a Halloween party where it was served. The brisket, ribs and sausage was juicy. Different but good flavor was their corn, pickles, jalapenos, and potato salad. I would be interested in trying their restaurant sometime.

These people know what they are doing and they love sharing their love of great Texas BBQ. I had the Texas Trinity (ribs, brisket and sausage) with a side of cole slaw and deviled eggs. I LOVED the ribs. Everything else was good. Service was amazing. They stayed open just for our group of 20 and one of the servers sang a song with us.
