Beautiful property, friendly staff, and flavorful wine. Oddly enough my favorite part of the experience was the drive to Los Pinos... at times it was a one lane road that had our group questioning if the GPS was wrong. We beat the crowd on a Saturday afternoon, so we found a table and promptly received service. We ordered the cheese plate, carrot cake, a burger, pizza, and a lemon- chicken dish. All of the foods were good, but none were outstanding. After lunch, we went to the tasting room. The wines were pleasant for my amateur taste, but it is notable that the servers poor all samples into the same glass with no rinse... works for me, but I think folks who are serious about wine tasting will deem this unacceptable. All in all...a decent experience.

The place is clean and the customer service is friendly and helpful. Two of us got hot links and two ordered the catfish. Sides were coleslaw, hush puppies and potato salad. The hot links were decent, but those little shriveled up links are probably an acquired taste. We shared tastes of each other's choices and all agreed the catfish was excellent. Lots of food on the catfish plates (the "Regular Fry" plate is plenty big!), really good hush puppies. Potato salad was pretty decent, coleslaw was just middle of the road quality. We all agreed we would eat here again, but will stick to catfish or hamburgers next time.

Weâve been going here for years. We live in Ga now but are from Tx and travel to the area a couple of times a year. The all you can eat fried catfish is consistently delicious. Served with fries, delicious hush puppies, coleslaw, spicy beans, fresh onions and green tomato relish. Not much atmosphere inside but does have views of the lake. Can accommodate many people and very large groups. Be prepared to walk away stuffed!
This was our first visit to Anvil Brewing and wont be out last. They had a nice selection of beers and a varied menu. We arrived late afternoon- almost 2 pm. We ordered the pretzels - which went well with our beers. They have live music on the weekends. The staff were all super friendly and helped us decide which types of beer we should try. The selection changes - but the pineapple cider I had was very good. I also tried a lemon flavored beer that was very good!

Leave your politics in the parking lot....and go to Big Earlâs if you want the best chicken fried steak in Texas!!I travel a fair bit....now more in rural America....But I always make it a point to seekout two traditional American food items no matter where I may find myself. All traditional American restaurants can be benchmarked with these two items...Chicken fired steak ( with white cream gravy of course ) and coconut cream pie! Unfortunately.....BEâs was out of pie....however as noted the CFS was great! It was Lightly battered and crispy fried...just enough batter not heaps as some joints sling out. The meat was clearly good cow ( angus according to BE himself) lightly tenderized with a Hard mallet, just as It should be...flavorful with a hint of pepper seasoning. The gravey was superb...not gooey or too runny..clearly made with some of the chicken fried drippings.....Yummmmy! Now I had the small order, based on lovely Amandaâs recommendation.... I canât imagine the full order...along with two sides not too mention the free navy beans.in the big pot ....self serve ..( thatâs worth a meal by its self ) . Come to Big Earlâs for the best CFS in Texas ....While you wait ....charming Amanda will keep your coffee cup full......
