We live locally, so it's nice to have an upscale dinner spot without the drive. Service is professional and gracious. Beautiful lake views. Food is always great! We love the spinach artichoke dip or smoked trout for an appetizer. Well executed steaks and pork chops. Sea bass is also a favorite. Decent wine selection & prices. Chefs' table can be fun with kids, although I find the lighting really bright so prefer normal dining room on the regular. One of the few upscale dining options that's consistently good on the lake.Thank you for the five-star review, 'TXWanderlust'! We strive for perfection for not just our resort guests, but also the guests that live here locally. I will pass along your comments to our culinary team, they always appreciate the feedback. We look forward to seeing you again soon!Cheers!Corey BranhamRestaurant General Manager
Where to eat Barbecue food in Montgomery: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Fantastic new place near Lake Conroe. The food and service this evening were just superb. Generous portions, outstanding presentation, comprehensive wine list and cocktail menu. Our filet and redfish entrees were perfectly prepared. The ambience is really nice. We are already making plans to return and enjoy the Italian portion of the menu, plus the lobster roll and desserts. What a great place.
Nothing fancy, clean, tidy and the decor fit's this place great. The food is excellent. Since I stay in the area about 3 months a year this will now be one of regulars. The staff was knowledgeable, nice and well-mannered...friendly. Highly recommend for quick eats.

Monty's Is A Refreshing New Addition To Lake Conroe's Restaurant Scene! Our Beautifully Remodeled Restaurant Is 2nd To None On The Lake And We Believe You Will Agree This Is The Best Cajun/Seafood This Side Of The Louisiana Border!!
I've been back again, this time with my wife, and we really enjoyed the place - that's two for two. We went for an Astros ALCS playoff game and sat at the bar. The place was rocking, packed with 'stros fans, yet service was mostly good throughout the 4-hour game. We ventured a little further down on the menu - we both had their gumbo, my wife had fried shrimp and I went full gourmet :-) with a selected fish (tilapia) and Monty's Triple Trio topping. All-in cost for the fish and topping was maybe $22-24 - pretty stiff for tilapia, but the topping was delicious.I've read the flood of bad reviews and all I can say is that we must've caught them on good nights and made good menu choices. There's no doubt that everything is relatively expensive, especially given the low standards set along the 105 corridor. And yes, $65 for dinner in a sports bar is pretty stiff, but the location's awesome and we can come by boat.If I could rewrite my previous review I'd take out the comparison to Pappadeaux's. No, this isn't even close - you're trading overall food quality for location. Compared to Pappadeaux's, our Cajun standard, the food here is a B- but the location gets an A. Adjust your expectations and you'll enjoy the food and the venue.Prior Review - October 13, 2019Great start! We've been waiting at least six months for this place to open and I'm pleased to report that it was worth the wait. Keep in mind that it only opened to the public this weekend, so they've had their doors open all of two days. You'd never know it though - the service was crisp and accurate, very friendly and knowledgeable. All smiling young faces in matching uniforms. The rebuild came out great. The interior is light and airy, feels like a cool breeze with the whites and light blues, plus the ocean-stained cement floor. The bar follows the same pattern as the original Sam's Boat, as does much of the interior, but the feel is much lighter, cleaner, classier. I've only had time to taste the seafood gumbo, shrimp po' boy and fries, but all were excellent. I would put this almost on the same level as a Pappadeaux, which is saying something in the Cajun genre. Loved the rows of TVs inside, all showing the Texans' game, and the increased efficiency of the outdoor tables gave lots of room for a big crowd on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. If I were forced to find fault with anything, it would be the prices, which seem just a little stiff for the 105 corridor. Granted, the water-front location is worthy of a premium, but $14 for the shrimp po' boy and $8 for the seafood gumbo seem high, especially given that both were on the small side. Still, the quality was very good and the view can't be beat, so we'll be back with pleasure. We're really looking forward to working our way through this menu. This first impression is very positive.
