Serving Rockport's freshest seafood at The Boiling Pot! Serving up cajun-style boiled seafood, you won't go wrong with our large portions and even larger creole flavors.
A shrimp boil is just hard to beat, especially when youâre down on the coast! Came here not knowing what to expect, but wanted some seafood. Neat casual atmosphere - a dive- thatâs fun! Walls are filled with the art of âpatronsâ? They have plenty of choices for beer - close to 100? All in bottles. The food was great - plenty of spice. My only suggestion would be to increase the shrimp to 1 lb for the Cajun combo - to much sausage, not enough shrimp.
This was a very busy place on a Friday lunch time. Order from a menu on the wall, pay, get your own drinks and receive food in a timely manner. There were four of us who each ordered different items from the menu. Each were very satisfied. Infact two of the group had eaten here before. I had the shrimp tacos which were outstanding. Not fancy but great food and lots of seating.
So they are located in an old run down retail strip center - everyone has to start somewhere! This young couple was at Fat Boys (across the street and down a ways and now closed) and ventured out on their own to which I give them credit for trying! They are just starting out and maybe the a/c isn't working that great but give the food a try sometime. Shrimp poor boy is good as is the shrimp and grits. The gumbo while abit pricey at 6.00 a cup is good and no okra in it. The chicken sandwich is supposed to be grilled but they will gladly fry it as they did for us! So if you are looking for something off the beaten tourist path, take a drive out on W Market St. to see Leonora & Leon. They usually post their daily specials on their Facebook page.
