The ads on TV are enthusiastic and tout the fresh ingredients used to make the food. Well, the salsa did live up to its billing but nothing else did. The upholstery is literally falling onto the floor in huge sections exposing bare wood. There is a large, blackened hole in the ceiling tile in the seating area underneath which a bucket was placed to catch whatever was running out. The refried beans were crusty, not moist and tasted old. The cheese enchiladas were okay but the portion was not especially generous. The food was relatively inexpensive so perhaps there is an appeal to college students who need cheap, filling food. I wanted this eatery to be good but it just didn't live up to its reputation and my expectations There are too many other better Mexican food restaurants from which to choose for me to return to Pepe's.

Food was good but the place could have used some clean up. They weren't that busy but the tables were dirty and there was food on the floor.
Where to eat Spanish food in Bryan: The Best Restaurants and Bars
I decided to have a quick lunch here today. The facility was very clean. It is a simple concept. The counter service was very good. So, no complaints there. I had two super tacos with a soda. The tacos are nothing special in my opinion. The taco sauce in their little packets isn't a good taste in my opinion. There is way too much shredded cheese in the tacos. The lettuce wasn't really green and fresh looking and the tomatoes were tasteless. To be honest, Taco Bell has much better tasting tacos. The owner is a very nice gentleman. No complaints there. The restroom was clean, too. Just not a real tasty meal.
