Located far from the bright lights of Dallas or San Antonio, in the state's western corner along the sparkling shores of the Rio Grande, El Paso boasts a different feel than its eastern counterparts. A true melting pot of American and Mexican culture, the combination is noticeable everywhere. Visit the El Paso Museum of Art and see American works from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as Mexican colonial art and retablos from the 1700s and 1800s. Restaurants serve authentic Mexican cuisine, Texas barbecue or a little of both. While this fusion of cultures draws some, the rock climbers who descend on El Paso have only one thing in mind: scaling the massive boulders of Hueco Tanks State Park. Those who prefer the ground can wander through the park's interpretive center and see ancient Indian pictographs. Other popular El Paso pastimes include golf, mountain biking and our personal favorite, stargazing.

Amazing food -bakery items, egg skillets and more. They were busy but much faster than a typical restaurant with this kind of a menu selection. I loved my chocolate muffin, warm, moist and oh so fresh! My daughterâs egg skillet looked amazing (she said it was). Fancy coffee/chais too. Great decor. You do order at counter, but they bring to table. Great find google maps! Oh, itâs right on the way to the airport too!

The restaurant is in a shopping center with free parking. The cafe is a small store front with a few tables outside on the sidewalk and several inside. There is also a counter. The food is prepared behind the counter. The most noticeable thing about the cafe is the eager helpfulness of the staff. The food was excellent. I had a ham and cheese sandwich that was quite delicious. The only problem is it that the cafe's seating is limited.

Cute as a button and good food and coffee to boot! My husband and I spent 5 days in the El Paso area for a trip this past week, and most of the time we wanted traditional Tex-Mex (I've missed it after moving from Texas to Nashville a couple of years ago). But on our last morning in El Paso, we decided to try Salt + Honey for brunch. And I'm glad we did. My husband has a serious sweet tooth, and I do not. But we both loved what we ordered at Salt + Honey. He got the Baklava pancakes and espresso flight and loved both. (The baklava pancakes were a beautiful texture and tasted really good, I just prefer a more savory breakfast myself.) I got a great iced latte and the tacos borrachos (Michelada braised brisket, green chile cheese hashbrowns, eggs, and cilantro lime crema), which I loved. Because I'm Jewish, I loved braised brisket before I ever tried the BBQ version, and this dish was just yummy. Well cooked (not dry!!!!) scrambled eggs, good brisket, amazing hashbrowns, raw onion, oodles of cilantro (can there ever be enough cilantro), and that crema?! Loved it. The restaurant is very cute. The service was great. The prices were reasonable (although pricier than most meals we had in El Paso). It's clearly popular. We arrived on a Sunday morning around 9, and there was only one other couple seated. By the time we left after 10, a run or race had clearly let out and the restaurant was pretty full! My only complaint about Salt + Honey? The portions were wayyyyyyy too big. When food is this good, I hate to leave it on the plate (seems so wasteful), but when portions are this big (see pictures), it's almost impossible to finish everything unless you're sharing! Great meal. Definitely a fun hipster side to El Paso that I'm glad we explored along with more traditional spots! Definitely worth a visit!
