Established in 2007, our third Kirby's location in the Stone Oak area of San Antonio is an award-winning restaurant featuring all natural, Midwestern, aged prime beef. We also offer fresh seafood, daily chef features, and a spectacular collection of new a
This is my wife and I second time visiting Kirbys'. This is the first review that I have written. We made reservations for Valentine's Day and arrived on time, can you believe that. The atmosphere was romantic and friendly with perfect lighting to set the mood. The appetizers were delicious, we ordered the Crab Cake and Oysters. We selected the Prime and Ribeye Steaks for the Main Course and Caesar Salad. I was disappointed to find out we couldn't get saute onions on the steaks. The waiter said they didn't have onions there, how strange. We settled for the mushrooms. The steaks were worth the price. We couldn't eat all of them so we took some home. My wife couldn't believe the waiter place the used saucer ware on top of her steak that was being bagged to take home by the staff. He quickly removed the used saucer from her steak, offering no apology as if we didn't see it. Yes we should have brought it to management's attention, we were in disbelief. This incident disappointed us. However, I would still recommend the restaurant to everyone but please beware of wait staff putting dinnerware on your food you wish to take home!!!!

Fresh, modern cuisine from Spain, France and Italy. Paella, Filet Mignon, Frutti Di Mare and much more! Now open for Brunch Sat and Sun. Do not miss out on our desserts either
We were recommended this small bistro from our hotel concierge, and it was a phenomenal experience. The arepas and tequeno appetizers were tasty and just the right portion size. I had a great filet and my date loved, loved, LOVED the Red Snapper entree. They have a small but varied wine list, and great service. The owner stopped by a few times to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, and, the entire experience was a solid a+. It can get a bit cold in there, but other than that, the decor, food and service were top notch.

Are you looking for an authentic culinary experience in the San Antonio area? If so, it's time to indulge in the essence of J-Prime steakhouse. At J-Prime, we take the traditional American steakhouse and jazz it up with our unique flair and flavor. Our fu
As big fans and regulars of their affiliated restaurant Chama Gaucha we really expected to love this place. Unfortunately, we were surprised by mediocre steak not cooked as requested, escargot that lacked in flavor, just ok side dishes and slow service. Given our exceptional experience with Chama Gaucha and $500 price tag for this family dinner we were very disappointed.

Riley our waiter rocked! Great service and the type my wife and I provided 30 yrs ago. Subtle yet effective. Involved but not intrusive. Miss that quality in young waiters and waitresses these days. To top it all off the prime rib was delicious. Keep up the good work Riley, next time we're there I hope we have your table.

At Chama Gaucha we believe a quality experience is based on a combination of prime ingredients and gracious service. Our 12 cuts of meat and garden fresh salad bar is hand selected daily to ensure perfection to your plate. Our meats are always 100% USDA P
We decided to try the steakhouse because of it's high recommendations. The salad bar was very good, but we found the steak to be very salty. The entire experience was enjoyable. Good wine list as well. If you're looking for a quiet steakhouse, this is not the one.

Live music flows almost every night, along with cold beer and great Texas home cooking at Spechts Texas! Since 1985, we have been the ultimate bar and restaurant in San Antonio and with a newly renovated event space, The Gin, Spechts is the best live musi
We live outside a metropolitan area, so there are few choices of restaurants. We decided to try Specht's since it is within easy driving distance of our house. The place itself is charming--it is inside an old country general store, complete with authentic bar. The entrée choices besides salads and sandwiches are limited. My spouse chose the $13.95 chicken fried steak; I got the $13.00 fried catfish. There was a note on the top of the menu that Thursday--the night we visited--was Steak Night, but no mention of what was offered on the menu, and no mention from our waitress. I later saw a notice on the door on the way to the bathroom that Steak Night was a 12 oz ribeye with baked potato and one additional side. After our meal, wish that option had been presented to us. It was our first visit, and we noticed as we left that the other patrons had steak, so I guess they were regulars. We got chips and salsa for an appetizer, salsa was good and spicy, not too much tomato taste. My $13.00 fried catfish plate consisted of ONE piece of catfish that was lukewarm and soggy on the bottom. That was surprising since waitress warned me that my plate was very hot (it was). I had to ask for tartar sauce. The green beans were canned and tasteless, with a bit of bacon thrown in an attempt to make them look like "from scratch". The saving grace was the mashed sweet potatoes, they were quite good with a smoky taste. My spouse's $13.95 chicken fried steak was mostly breading encasing a 6" round cube steak that was more appropriate for a sandwich than an entrée. To their credit, the mashed potatoes were real, not out of a box. After I finished my beer, I asked for water, and was told they had only bottled water. That was fine, but it was room temperature. About halfway through, the flies descended on us and our food, crawling around the rim of our drink glasses. The indoor dining is completely enclosed, so I question how sanitary the kitchen might be. By the time we left, five flies were buzzing around us. Restrooms are outside, adjacent to their outdoor dining/entertainment area, which offers live music on weekends. The ladies room was filthy, with muddy footprints on the floor, paper towels littering the floor, and one sink looked like someone had rinsed off their muddy tennis shoes in it. The outdoor area is large with wooden picnic tables and appears to be pet-friendly--there was a pet waste disposal station at the back of the property. We might try it again for lunch and get burgers or sandwiches; the entrees we selected are available for two thirds of the price with servings twice the size at another restaurant that is much more convenient. Our experience was not worth the extra 12 minute drive or the price and not planning to revisit again anytime soon.

Bad idea on a Sunday afternoon at three, they are transitioning from brunch to dinner and are totally unprepared. Our server would rather of not been there and had to go ask a question on everything we tried to order. Finally got some cold under cooked food, total disappointment as this was our afternoon ride destination . Good rodeo and bbq on Saturday night , bad dinner date on a Sunday afternoon !

Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner at 18 Oaks in JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. Locally sourced meats, cheeses and produce creates rich, flavorful dishes you cannot find anywhere else.
This is s classic steak house that does what it does best. The salads are gargantuan and decent; however, the star attraction is the meat. I had grilled pork chop with a bourbon glaze and blueberry sauce which was outstanding! The meat was tender and the sauce was beautifully made and executed with spices such as pepper and rosemary. The helping was extremely generous. I finished off the meal with fresh berries which cleansed the palate beautifully. From the individuals I spoke with who had the steak they all uniformly said that that it was outstanding even by Texas standards which is saying a lot. Highly recommended!
