I often eat lunch here with my sister. The service is fast and friendly and the food is pretty good. If you go with a large group you can order fajitas for the table.

Holy tamales! This place is fantastic! If youâre passing through, you need to stop here. Come hungry. The food is so good. We had the Fajitas Especiales, which were beef, onions, mushrooms, and pepper, all topped with cheese. While the fajita beef itself was âjustâ goodâI prefer more of a smoky flavor, but thatâs just the way I make themâthere was plenty of it for two. So, yeah, donât order the ones for two if itâs just two people, unless you have mighty appetites. The whole package was fantastic. The salsa was authentic and good. The charro beans I could eat as soup for a meal! Rice had a lot of good flavor. Well, I could go on, but come experience it yourself. Itâs a small place with limited seating, but it does have table service with pretty good servers. But, even at 1:30 on a Saturday, we were able to get a table right away. There were a couple more empty tables, but about 90% of the tables were occupied. Obviously the locals appreciate this little gem.

My sister lives in Bastrop and I visit often. Last time I was there I saw a much needed restaurant was being built. We went to Garcia's after shopping and were greeted by a hostess who seemed "bored" We sat down and waited for approx. 15 min before asking if we had a waitress. She came about 5 minutes later and seemed upset. We ordered... 25 minutes passed and we still didn't receive our food!?! They weren't busy and we ordered something we thought would be quick because we were hungry. At least we had some chips while we waited. We left, disappointed and ate the bars we put in our purses before we left home.

Driving from Austin to Houston presents mostly empty spaces, with a scattering of small towns along the way. We found ourselves making the trek back home from Austin one day when everyone felt the need for lunch. Mexican food was on our minds and that was enough to lead us to visit Morelia Mexican Grill in Bastrop. This restaurant features a pleasant interior that has colorful surroundings, dim lighting, etc and has the look and feel of a Mexican/TexMex restaurant, as it should. The seating and service are prompt and even though we were not in a hurry, we were treated promptly and appreciated that we did not have to wait. For food, Morelia Mexican grill serves appetizers, soup, salad, tacos, fajitas, combo plates, chimichangas, burritos, and enchiladas; in other words, the usual Mexican fare. They even serve other items you may not expect to find in this type of restaurant, like steaks, seafood, and pasta dishes. Appetizers might be a good place to start if youâre exceptionally hungry. Some of them, like the quesadillas, can serve as a main course meal while others, like the bean tostada, are really meant as a warm- up to your main course. My family and I mostly ordered combo meals when we visited, consisting of enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, and traditional sides such as rice and refried beans. We found the quality of the food good overall and it tasted fresh- much better than what I sometimes experience in Mexican restaurants that prepare large volumes of food ahead of time and stick everything in a microwave before serving to the customers. The taste and freshness were better at Morelia Mexican Grill and we left feeling satisfied. The small towns scattered between Austin and Houston are often necessary stopping points when you travel between the two cities. Eating is often a must when traveling from one major Texas city to next and Morelia Mexican Grill is a very good option when youâre craving Mexican or TexMex food. Itâs just a short drive east from Austin and the food, service, and atmosphere are easily enough to earn this dining establishment an above average rating.

The best Margarita in town and a reasonable price. Beef fahitas that practically melt in your mouth. Generous portions of all meals and a friendly wait staff. Will accommodate groups of 20 or more with ample parking right on Hwy 71 close to Walmart. Their all-you-can-eat specials are mouth-watering.
I knew the minute I stepped through the door of this very unpretentious restaurant an was greeted with a huge smile, it was going to be a great dining experience. That warm smile was on the face of Jesse, the owner, who took considerable time explaining that all his food is are to order and very fresh. We ordered an assortment to go for the family at home but decided to go ahead, order, and eat ours there. My 3 chicken enchiladas were made with shredded chicken breast that was still nice and juicy, topped with cheese and green chili sauce with enough heat to satisfy without overpowering. The rice and beans were good, too, but I got full before I could finish everything. My friend's combo plate of favorite, burrito, and cheese enchiladas looked equally as delicious. The food is not gourmet, but that's not what we expected. It was good, home style cooking served with a smile. This tiny place is usually too busy to get a table. And now we know why. We will be back.

Ordered chicken taco and chicken enchilada. Chips were good. Salsa full of cilantro and not fit to eat as a result. Server brought a delicious, warm replacement salsa, with no cilantro, hence a decent tip. Taco and enchilada were awful. I could only taste oregano. Yuk. I ate the tasty refried beans and pushed the plate to the other side of the table. The server came by my table just as I had stuffed my mouth with a bean-covered chip. She asked if I was okay. I couldn't speak, so I shook my head wildly. She just walked away. I was never offered something else to eat. I gave them three bucks for the beans and chips, two bucks for the tip and left.Terrible food. Terrible customer service.
