Another good TexMex place in Boerne! I've eaten here numerous times since they've opened and enjoyed every meal. The menu is typical TexMex as is the decor and furniture which match the prices - cheap. Service is always fast. I think they are cashier based - pay at the register, but I still don't know! Everytime I ask, they take my payment at the table, but I guess they wouldn't have a prominent register if it wasn't pay at the counter. Good, dependable, TexMex. I'll be back.
Chili's is one of the only 'modern' chain restaurants in Boerne, and most people would agree we need more! The food and the staff at this Chili's have always been above average, and good. If only my wife liked Chili's, I would eat there a whole lot more often. Not as flashy since they redecorated, and removed so much of the 'local' flaired memorabilia hanging on their walls, but the food is still good.
Small taqaueria in the Boerne boonies. Situated in the back area of a gas station/strip center, it is quite out of the way unless you travel regularly on Hwy 46 or live near Bergheim.Check out the ingredients for tacos and lunch plates that are displayed in food trays behind the glass case cafeteria style in this small eatery. Then place your order for tacos and Tex-Mex plates from the menu board hanging overhead. Watch as they fill the order from the prepared food bins. Then select a drink from the cold case units, pay for your order and grab a table.Tacos with eggs as an ingredient are made fresh as were a few other items not kept in the prepared food warmers. Tortillas are homemade, but smallish as the restaurant name suggests. Brisket (spiced med. hot), migas, bacon and egg, and al pastor were all good and the tortillas were well filled for the most part. Another diner (must have been a regular) overheard that we thought chips and salsa would be good with our order. I saw the gentleman get up from his table and speak to the owner/manager, then announce to us across the room that chips were on the way. How about that for a friendly atmosphere?! Chips turned out to be a little hard and the hot sauce is a bit too runny for my taste, but you won't catch me looking in that horse's mouth even for a moment.Clientele seems to be mostly locals, hunters and day laborers. One apparently ravenous customer ordered 34 tacos of different kinds as a to go order right before us. They seemed to handle this large order well in stride as our order was only delayed by one out of eight tacos and it was soon delivered to the table.Cozy all-around good taco joint that still makes me ponder the age old question though; should taqui toes be eaten with taqui fingers, or should one use taqui utensils?

Tamales are a Texas tradition for the Christmas holiday. Mi Case makes delicious tamales in several varieties year round that are not only tasty but larger than other establishments and have less masa. They are available year round. Be advised that they are closed two days a week and have live music on Fridays and Saturdays. Eat on the premise or take to go. They have tradition Mexican sides.

The Mexican food is absolutely delicious. El Rio has exceptional daily specials featuring streaks, seafood, or unique Mexican dishes. This is a local favorite. Today I had an $8.99 chicken fried steak that was big enough for three people. (Of course, I requested a to-go container). The best in town.

Acting on a recommendation from service professional from nearby Kerrville, Texas, I opted to have breakfast at the Guadalajara Mexican Grill on Boerne's Main Street. Seated quickly my order was taken and before I could take the first few sips from the morning's first cup of coffee my order arrived, bonus! I went for the Machacada, a traditional favorite which I was certain to please. Although the small portion size surprised me it was a true original with generous bits of dried beef, onions, peppers. The portion of retried beans was equally minimal and a bit runny. The flour tortillas do not rival the hand made of Mary's Taco's. One cup of coffee, a tasty but small main breakfast portion of Machacada and refried beans, ten bucks. Why cause and effect? Breakfast at the Guadalajara Mexican Grill was the cause of the almost immediate (15-20 minutes later) negative effect which swept through me, nuff said. On a high point the wait staff was very friendly, attentive, the ambience authentic. I will give this place another shot given they prepare Gordita's daily.

A homegrown San Antonio radio announcer when asked "What gets you into the Christmas spirit, how do you know Christmas is near?" The announcer did not hesitate, he said "When tamales come into the house." The back story to the announcer's answer was when his grandmother sent tamales to all her children over the holidays, how cool? If you can't or don't have the time to prepare tamales at home, the next best is Chilito's in Boerne, TX. Chilito's tamales any time of the year are fantastic but over the Christmas holiday it a little taste of heaven. If near a holiday, order online, ORDER EARLY. Pork, Chicken, whatever, Chilito's tamales are the real deal.
Was driving through Boerne & could not resist stopping at Chilito's! The truck was adorable & the scent of the food was intoxicatingly amazing (just like Mexico!) We had cream cheese tamales, quesadillas made on fresh flour tortillas (best quesadillas & flour tortillas I have had anywhere, including Mexico) , chicken & pork street tacos on homemade corn tortillas that were fantastic! The sauces, hot & mild, were both delicious. Service was great! Everything made fresh to order & homemade! A MUST in Boerne!! We will be back!!

We had beef enchilada platter, the cheese enchilada platter, and the chicken enchilada platter and tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious! The Spanish rice was amazing. The refried beans were really good. The homemade chips and salsa were good too. And the guacamole bowl was awesome!Staff was friendly. Our waiter, Baron, did a great job serving us! Nice atmosphere. Everything is homemade, so it takes a little time, but was reasonable for a packed cafe on a Friday night.I highly recommend this Mexican cafe if you are in the area!
