Let me start by saying the menu is quite extensive, featuring everything from steaks to seafood and everything in-between. I chose a hamburger with guacamole and sweet potato fries and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guacamole was just spicy enough for me, but I was glad I had opted out of the jalapenos. The meat was good quality without being greasy or dry, and the brioche bun gallantly held up to the guacamole, bacon, cheese, etc. It is a messy burger because of all of the components so additional napkins is a good idea. The sweet potato fries were also good with the right amount of crispiness. People around me had pasta dishes and entree salads and there were nothing but raves. Now for the downside. Service was a problem. I was there with a large group for lunch, which typically slows service, but waiting 45+ minutes to get our food was unacceptable and a deal breaker for those on an hour lunch break. Our waitress kept repeating when we requested to place our order, to get refills, to inquiries about when our food was coming out, and finally requesting to get our ticket to pay, that she was the only server for 20 people; but it all seemed very puzzling and finally very irritating because the restaurant was not that busy with many tables empty. The manager(?) finally came over and apologized but at that point we were almost an hour into our visit. Other guests who had visited the restaurant with only 2-4 guests reported similar waits for their food. Keep in mind too that this is not a cheap lunch: my hamburger with fries and iced tea was $20 before the tip! All said, I will come again because the food is that good, but when I have an adequate time available to accommodate the wait.

Denton's first Tapas Bar. We have offer Tapas style appetizers that are gourmet tasting but priced much below that. We also offer Signature Cocktails, Craft Beer, Wine, Sangria, and a fully stocked Liquor Bar. We are the perfect place for any sized party!

Which is fine, but not the place I would take the whole family. If you are good with the atmosphere, then try the chicken biscuits with truffle honey. They are great!

We have been to the Hula Hut 3 different times and had 3 different servers. Each server had a great friendly attitude and went out of their way to be accommodating. There was no problem with any special request. I have eaten the shrimp tacos twice and they were great. Just had a burger and it was big and juicy. There was no problem getting it cooked the way you want it. When the server brought my wife's he ask her to check it to make sure it was cooked the way she wanted just like they do in a fancy steakhouse. Our grand kids have been with us each time and they are very accommodating for kids as well. I would recommend this place if you are looking for good atmosphere and casual food. Possibly best burgers in Denton! Certainly best cream brûlée! Years ago had a few bad experiences so was reluctant to go back; especially with all the choices in Denton now.Anyhow, really glad I did. Been back a few times now and the food has all been consistently good.When busy expect a little slower service and just take the time to enjoy it. Not sure if understaffed or just slower servers.... but the food is really great and worth the wait. Another great item was a huge stuffed avocado... delicious!

We found Rooster's in Decatur and loved it. Months later we were ecstatic when we were driving through downtown Denton and saw this one. Had to try it and so glad everything was just as good. Love the feel of the place, the service and food. My favorite is the brisket burger. I'm not a brisket guy but this thing is awesome. Also, the chips that come standard are good but also try their onion petals. Prices are very good for the quality you receive. Parking can be tough so try driving around back if full in the front.

Food and drinks were good, but not life changing. We had the brisket queso which was really good. I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had the turkey burger. The parm fries were really good and so was the sangria. Unfortunately it was hot in there. Like sweating hot. And jam packed. We were seated at a little two seater by the door and it was in the path of the only way to exit the restaurant. Every single person that needed to leave had to squeeze by our table, and we legit had someoneâs butt over our table for 2-3 min while they were saying goodbye to their group. I donât think Iâd visit again. If so, it would be for a to-go order.

While I have been to Denton several times I had not been intoruced to the Barley & Board until my recent visit. This restaurant's setting in an old hotel on the historic square could not be better or more convenient. The atsmosphere is great, even if it is a bit on the noisy side, and the service is impecable. The menu slections are very creative and the portions quite generous. Eventhough it might prove difficult, try to save room for some dessert as the slections are yummy and, I suspect, generous in size. Selection of craft brews is excellent. Well worth a stop if in Denton and worth a deviation in route if traveling near the Denton area.

Good food; we had potato skins (yummy) and split chicken tenders - 6 tenders, fries and my husband said the BEST toast he's had in years. Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

I have visited this bar/restaurant several times during various occasions ......sometimes to have dinner and/or drinks, sometimes for the live music and other times to watch football. The staff are very friendly, the food is usually pretty good, especially the PIZZA!! Drinks are strung and cold. Good place to relax and unwind!
