The Ancient Grain Bowl was a plate of separate items. The grains were dense and heavily seasoned but walnuts a nice addition. The roasted tomatoes and chicken decent. Not at all what I expected or hoped for. My companion had a sandwich that was okay but nothing great. There was a nice selection of gelato and desserts but we didn't try any.Service was good and a nice interior space.I had heard positive things about this chain. My husband and I met a co-worker of his and the co-worker's family, which included 2 kids under 7. Co-worker lives in the area and tends to choose restaurants based on their beer selection, so I wasn't sure there'd been any thought given to the menu itself, but everyone found something they liked (crab legs, etouffee, fish sticks and macaroni for the kids) and all the plates were empty by the end of the meal, so obviously everyone was happy. Our server did a great job keeping up with drink refills and such, and the crayons and placemats kept the kids busy while we waited to be served.The only complaint I have is that we were seated in the front window in the corner, at a round booth. The booth and table were not sized to work together, because there was not enough room for people to sit on all sides of the booth around the table - the table was too big for the opening in the center of the booth.

The food is standard Sysco fair, not freshly prepared so if you can be satisfied with something that comes out of the Microwave, then you'll be fine. Depending on what staff is available and what their IQ is, determines your service experience. The management does not focus on experienced staff retention. The only serious complaint I had is with the insulation. The platform boards on which the floor is built has NO sound cancelling insulation. So every time servers walk by it echoes REALLY loudly with a hearty BOOM BOOM BOOM. The only Boom I want to hear is coming from the screen.Thanks for the good review and feedback, Tim! I came to Sugar Land 6 months ago and trying the local cuisine was not something I enjoyed, so this time around I had my reservations...I was pleasantly surprised when someone suggested this place and the food proved me wrong, hands-down the best steak I have had in a very long time. It was juicy, delicious, cooked to perfection and so were the vegetables, crunchy and fresh. The oysters were beautifully presented and divine! First time I tried cooked ones but I couldn't resist the smell, my favourite the ones the Rockefeller.And all with a beautiful Californian red, I can't remember its name sadly but it was sublime and it went perfect with my choice of food.

Anywhere we eat around Houston, around Texas or in other states; we always compare the seafood to Pappa's restaurants and few measure up to the taste. The gumbo is outstanding and the fish is always fresh. Service is excellent but can be a bit slow during really busy dining times. We usually try to go early or later so not to wait long.

This is where hip comes home: beef from grass-fed cows meets crepes with all natural, real whipped cream. The range of menu items is, by design, limited, so that the preparation and ingredients are impeccably selected and prepared. This is your hipster hangout thatâs brave enough to serve real food on the menu, with a wide-range of toppings and sides for your burger or for one of their signature crepes. The same philosophy of depth over breadth drives draft beer options: if you are a stout fan, you will never be disappointed at Guru. I have been here with my family multiple times in the last few weeks, and although we all have very different tastes, the five of us come away EXCEEDINGLY satisfied for any outing to Guru. Give the Panch and Purple Rain a try, and donât miss out on the craft kambucha. This place is hands-down our favorite in City Center, and offers a number of Ketogenic dining options: tell them you want to loose the bun on the burger and substitute portobello mushroom capsâthe chef is very obliging, and the staff very friendly and helpful, so donât be afraid to ask for custom choices.

I had eaten here before and was very happy. However we ate here yesterday and my meal was terrible. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. I ordered grilled chicken and I got a 1/4â thick piece of grilled chicken. I think they took a chicken breast and sliced it into THREE pieces!! The âbuffalo â sauce was as thin as water and most of it was on the plate not the sandwich. My wife has the pulled pork sandwich and it was great with plenty of meat. That is the only reason I gave a three star vs a one star.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to have lunch here this past week. Have been to several other Perryâs for dinner and this location lived up to the reputation. I had the pork chop lunch and was not disappointed. A huge portion with tons of flavor. Our waiter was outstanding and very prompt. I look forward to returning to this location.
