What appears to be a Big Blue ATV Hauler turns out to be a very pleasant dining experience, I have stopped here numerous times for a quick lunch on the go. Highly recommend the Cheeseburger, BLT, and Fajita Meat Tacos! Yum...
Wow, great BBQ options. The full board baked potato with brisket, bacon, cheese, cilantro, green onions and sour cream - yum! Peppers on the side were delicious. The reuben was much appreciated, also. Potato salad was fresh and not too much mayo. Vegetarians can eat here. If you want a quick bakery item, stop in the front for kolaches and other options. They are open until they sell out. Staff are super friendly and helpful with suggestions to meet your needs. Eat inside or outside.

This is a small unassuming cafe, but the ordinary-ness stops @ the door. Known for the coconut pie, the chef is world-trained and prepared some of the best food I had ever had. The salads were so fresh with dressings unmatched. I had the pork chop with potatoes & vegetables...delicious. My friend had the salmon with vegetables & mashed potatoes, again just outstandingly prepared & tasted delicious.

Kay's is a true home cooking restaurant with farm-fresh vegetables and many other tasty treats. It's not fast food, and patience will be deliciously rewarded. This cafe is kept spotlessly clean, and the staff are cheerful and friendly. Makes me hungry thinking about it...

Stopped Friday after Thanksgiving. It was not full at all. Good setting. Inside and outside seating; free parking. Variety including salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers, Mexican food, etc. Had a BLT and the bacon was exactly how I like it - crispy. Fixings for sandwiches are located in back of an old time car.

Unlike anything in Bastrop County! Reviving the lost art of conversation No television, no pool tables, no loud music, just a beautiful atmosphere to relax, visit with friends and unwind. We offer a large wine selection, full bar, and hearty appetizers. H
Interesting decor, with some good drink choices. We ordered chips and queso for a snack though, and got Tostitos and Velveeta; unacceptable in Texas.

Stop number three on our run through Central Texas BBQ. Although considered a bargain for our meal at $12, it can only be classified as disappointing compared to most of the other entries on our itinerary. we ordered:Sausage-100% beef coarse ground. seasoning very mild bordering on flavorless. did have a nice clean mouth feel compared to some others-less greasyPork spare ribs-easily the highlight here. outstanding smoky flavor, plenty moist and just the right amount of pepper. just a notch below Franklin on our scale.Sauce-very disappointing. bland, bland , bland. added nothing to the meats.Slaw-horrible. too wet and too much vinegar. close relative of KFC slaw.Dessert-chocolate cake with walnuts. despite being pre-cut and wrapped in plastic wrap, this cake was delicious. moist, obviously homemade and tasted very fresh. very smooth and flavorful frosting.while we enjoyed some of it, i think you can find better many places.

This was our second trip to Honey's and we will return again from San Antonio. The pizzas and calzones are excellent and the specialty drinks were excellent. Usually, we prefer just standard mixed drinks but the bar manager, Javy (Javier) went out of his way to slightly tailor a drink my wife ordered. He did an excellent job on several variations we ordered in two visits. It's nice to sit at the bar on a quiet late afternoon. I think the management should dim the lights and ease the atmosphere at night when things get bustling, so I hope they'll consider that. The outdoor area, with a fire pit, a seating area and Amy's ice cream, is a winner.

This is a unique, donation only restaurant, open only on Fri-Sun for breakfast and lunch.Hubs and I have been coming here for several years, we love the donation only concept and have throughly enjoyed getting to know many of the Serenity Star people who run the restaurant. They always have great specials, delicious regular menu items and YUMMY desserts. The restaurant staff takes great pride in serving fine, quality food their Valentine dinner was delicious!!! This restaurant is one of our favorite places to eat! Come visit Smithville and give it a try.
