Grab a cold beer and order the Crab and Shrimp for two. PLENTY to share. 2 half Dungeness crabs, LOTS of shrimp, sausages, small red potatoes and corn ample to share and neither goes away hungry. Sweet cornbread available in single servings. Bread pudding for dessert - looks amazing too, maybe next time!

Let me start by saying the menu is quite extensive, featuring everything from steaks to seafood and everything in-between. I chose a hamburger with guacamole and sweet potato fries and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guacamole was just spicy enough for me, but I was glad I had opted out of the jalapenos. The meat was good quality without being greasy or dry, and the brioche bun gallantly held up to the guacamole, bacon, cheese, etc. It is a messy burger because of all of the components so additional napkins is a good idea. The sweet potato fries were also good with the right amount of crispiness. People around me had pasta dishes and entree salads and there were nothing but raves. Now for the downside. Service was a problem. I was there with a large group for lunch, which typically slows service, but waiting 45+ minutes to get our food was unacceptable and a deal breaker for those on an hour lunch break. Our waitress kept repeating when we requested to place our order, to get refills, to inquiries about when our food was coming out, and finally requesting to get our ticket to pay, that she was the only server for 20 people; but it all seemed very puzzling and finally very irritating because the restaurant was not that busy with many tables empty. The manager(?) finally came over and apologized but at that point we were almost an hour into our visit. Other guests who had visited the restaurant with only 2-4 guests reported similar waits for their food. Keep in mind too that this is not a cheap lunch: my hamburger with fries and iced tea was $20 before the tip! All said, I will come again because the food is that good, but when I have an adequate time available to accommodate the wait.

This is a consistent cafe: friendly service and great food! It is often packed but it is worth the wait. Since it is walking distance from my place, I time coming here to avoid the rush. My fave part is they carry and served one of my favorite coffee roasters in Oregon: Stumptown Coffee Roasters! Woohoo! The egg benedicts are simply delish - the hollandaise sauce is well balanced on the lighter side which is a plus for me. The hippy salad is refreshing! Their French toast is on the small side and its presentation is hit and miss. It needs an oomph since it is a little bland in presentation. I stopped ordering it after 3 times and I make French toast much better anyway. The jacked up huevos are very good but sometimes the jackfruit gets lost and/or it becomes very sweet. However, they have a whole list of yumminess so I don't ding them for those two dishes. It is a 4.5 star for me and I highly recommend!

They did a great job with our work group on a Friday for lunch. We were separated into two tables and each had our own server which I think helped with the flow. The food was great and everyone liked their meal. They have excellent chicken strips. My only complaint is they donât have an actual lunch menu, but otherwise everything was fabulous.

Carefully and beautifully prepared, locally sourced food.Lobster bisque was perfect. Eggplant and crab meat dish could only have been made marginally better had it been sauteed instead of fried, but nevertheless, not to be missed. The seafood stew was a gem. One of my all time favorites wherever I go.And the room and service befit the cuisine!Don't miss this one if you're in Denton.

Cartwright's Ranch House opened in 2011, but began as a dream many years ago. Located in Denton, TX they serve home-style foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All made from scratch. Famous for their chicken-fried AWESOMENESS!
Such great breakfast options (served all day) at good prices. On the square and easy to find. I will be back tomorrow morning for another home cooked breakfast.

We found Rooster's in Decatur and loved it. Months later we were ecstatic when we were driving through downtown Denton and saw this one. Had to try it and so glad everything was just as good. Love the feel of the place, the service and food. My favorite is the brisket burger. I'm not a brisket guy but this thing is awesome. Also, the chips that come standard are good but also try their onion petals. Prices are very good for the quality you receive. Parking can be tough so try driving around back if full in the front.

While I have been to Denton several times I had not been intoruced to the Barley & Board until my recent visit. This restaurant's setting in an old hotel on the historic square could not be better or more convenient. The atsmosphere is great, even if it is a bit on the noisy side, and the service is impecable. The menu slections are very creative and the portions quite generous. Eventhough it might prove difficult, try to save room for some dessert as the slections are yummy and, I suspect, generous in size. Selection of craft brews is excellent. Well worth a stop if in Denton and worth a deviation in route if traveling near the Denton area.

The first gourmet burger joint in Texas to honor our stateâs musical legends and trailblazers. Also, downtown Denton's FIRST rooftop patio/bar! LSA stands for Lone Star Attitude®, which is more than just a motto coined by Texas singer-songwriter, Jon Chri
Saw it on Good Taste with Tangi. Great burgers. They make an extra effort to offer good food; e.g., the mushrooms on the burgers are marinated. The burger was cooked perfectly and the herb fries were excellent. Went after the rush hour on a Monday and there was plenty of room. Be sure to study the Texas Last Supper.

Homestyle Breakfast and Lunch. Voted Best Breakfast and Homestyle Cooking! Come on by and hit the trail for Best Breakfast and Lunch!
We visited this restaurant in Denton mid-morning on a Monday...and there were already people waiting outside! As we were really trying to find a new-to-us place that would have breakfast as well as lunch, we decided to stay. So very glad we did! Our party of four was placed on the waiting list, but we had only been waiting for about 5 minutes when the greater/seater came to get us. We were seated at a booth, which I usually request a table due to most booths being rather tight for me. However, this one was very comfortable and roomy...no issues whatsoever. Then came the problem....decided which delicious offering to order! One in our party got lunch...a burger with breakfast hashbrown casserole as a side (Yes, you can mix and match sides and main dishes!) She said it was really delicious. The other three of us got breakfast and they were all good...nothing left on any plate. Well worth the wait if there is a line. Don't be afraid to wait as apparently they seat people pretty quickly. The food was delivered promptly, whopping portions, very tasty and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is very attractive and the servers are most helpful and polite. We will definitely be back.
