There was a short wait, but the drinks in the bar were very good. Once we were seated, the waitress was cheerful and efficient. Terrific seafood fondue appetizer, delicious steaks and really good french fries and onion rings. One party ordered the house salad and was extremely impressed. We'll be back.

Opening when I was a student way back when, the Dixie Chicken now boasts about being the oldest bar on Northgate. The Chicken holds special memories and as I reentered after many years of being away, it was most nostalgic, timeless. Donât get me wrong, the place is a dive. â¦and that is what makes it so special. The wooden carved up tables for 42 players, all the neon beer signs, the deer head trophies/ Once the smells get added in, it certainly makes it the best bar in town and maybe even the State of Texas. Returning to College Station for the first time in many years, my family members all required a visit to the âChickenâ so we could get one of their signature hamburgers and fries. The beer list has all the mass produced standards on draft â not many craft beers, but I guess that must be what sells these days to poor college students. Anyway, I just saw the Dixie Chicken celebrated their 45th birthday, so best wishes for many more. May the Chicken remain timeless and forever interesting.

They have great burgers ; however, please sand and clean your tables and chairs. They are disgustingly sticky and dirty. My shirt stuck to the back of the chair every time I leaned back and the tables are the same way.

I have always been here for lunch/dinner, but tried their weekend brunch. Nice selections and the food was good as always.

Veritas is a Casual Upscale Restaurant with focus on Seasonal & Market Driven Menu with emphasis on Asian-American-French flavor.
First time, and so impressed. Sashimi bowl and shrimp risotto were excellent. Peach cobbler and Creme brûlée were also very good. What makes this peach cobbler was the crumb topping, light, flaky and not overly sweet. Good service. Great place for a business lunch.

Blue Baker is an artisan bakery cafe serving made-from-scratch breads, pastries, sandwiches, soup, salads, and stone-oven pizza.
They have very few gluten-free options despite google searches bringing them up as gluten-free. The staff was great when making the order. however, they were actually completely out of gluten-free bread. They were accomodating and offered to transfer my order to the Blue Baker but I would have to drive to get it and we stopped here because it was across the parking lot from the hotel. After asking they were able to put my sandwich ingredients on salad. They really tried. Sadly, not fully stocked on gluten free bread.Hi Heather, thank you for taking the time to leave a review with us! I'm sorry that we were out of stock gluten-free bread in stock. This is an error on our part as we should have gluten-free bread available throughout the day but we have failed you in that regard. I understand that you were visiting in town and may not have the chance to dine in with us once again but with the feedback you provided us we will ensure to have more gluten free bread in stock for you and other guests in the future. We thank you for sharing your experience with us at Blue Baker. Thank you and we hope to see you again in the future.

Our menu feels familiar without being common, offering delicious flavors and variety at a great value. We focus on doing things consistently and exceptionally well. We make our own tender mozzarella and hand cut our steaks and fish. Our pizza is hand-toss
My family had lunch here - friendly, courteous staff; healthy, interesting menu.We had eaten here a couple of times over the years and had been pleasantly surprised. This time - flavorless dressing with the tuna/avocado salad, grilled lamb chops/asparagus - emphasis on the char. A slightly soggy Margherita pizza, a bland hummus appetizer I would probably not go back.David, we are so sorry to hear about your negative experience with us. We pride ourselves on quality eats and service, so we are sad to hear that only provided half of that this time around. Our College Station team would love to have you out for a meal on the house. Please feel free to contact me at your soonest convenience so that I can arrange this for you. We hope you will give us another chance and look forward to talking more soon! - Christina Boudreaux, Marketing Manager, [email protected]

Arrived for the first time at College Station from overseas last night, here to support our friends sending their son to A&M. Everyone through the day kept recommending âThe Republicâ for a great meal, great service and atmosphere. The Atmosphere was nice, the food good, but, the service (Server) ruined the evening. Having lived overseas for over 10 years, nothing beats coming home to the USA, going to a place like âThe Republicâ for a good USA dining experience. Having a great host staff and good food is only a part of the experience. In our case, other servers apologized for ours not yet greeting our table as they did their best to get things moving for us. Once arriving, our server seemed put off that he was our server, he appeared to believe he was above us and felt he knew better how our friends wanted their drinks and meals then they did. This patronizing attitude continued through the entire evening. That is between 2000 -2200 21 Aug.It is my opinion that there needs to be a customer service discussion reminding staff that every customer is important and that you never know who you are serving. Until then, no recommendation from us. Out of respect for Mr. Beckman and his vision to create âThe Republicâ, we will give it another go but for now only as option 2.
