All the local restaurants sharing the Great American have really good green chile cheese burgers and steak fries. The Vinton steaks have been disappointing the last few years. Go for barbecue or chicken. The slaw, beans, and potatoes are usually great, too.

It felt right to eat at a Texas steakhouse while we were in El Paso. This place didn't disappoint and the portions were generous, the prices very reasonable. The salmon was surprisingly good and the baked potato delicious. Warm rolls with butter were brought to the table before the meal. I especially liked how you could choose portion size for your entree. It's a popular place and very noisy. Good thing the basketball game was on and we could watch that instead of trying to have a conversation.

We are from Santa Fe, New Mexico, and enjoy the excellent food we have there. But, we generally do not get very good beef, so I was looking for a good Texas steak. What I got was perhaps the best steak I have ever had anywhere! It was the 8 oz. "Dallas" filet cooked to a perfect medium rare with absolutely no extra fat or gristle and very easily cut. I had to help my wife with her huge grilled chicken salad. The sides of pulled pork, chile, and corn were also very good. This is a noisy place with many TVs and lots of families celebrating birthdays who were obviously having a very good time. The service was excellent and the food was even better.
Had seen Don Carbon while driving through El Paso and then looked online at the website; I knew I had to check it out. The Don Carbon grilled chicken plate was delicious and memorable; when I pass through El Paso next time, I will be eating at Don Carbon's. It was busy when I got there so I knew it was good food and it was. I wish I could FedEx it! Delicious.
No copy cats here. This is a nice family owned and operated family business. Itâs a great group of people, to begin with-a multicultural family. The food shows the influence. Kinda Tex. Kinda Mex. Easy to find, convenient parking and hours. It appears to be ADA accessible inside and outside seating. A place for kids to play. Snacks to eat while you wait. There are no freezers here. ALL FRESH. That brisket you may be considering has been cooking for hours. Most portions are ridiculous. For instance, it took me 4 days to eat my appetizer. There are evening hours, express for lunchtime and a Sunday brunch. Oh! And they are quite accommodating for special dietary requests

This is a nice restaurant. Buffet style with selections to please most any palate. Reasonable price for "all-you-can-eat," table service and the food is hot. Wait staff keeps the tables stocked and cleaned. I'll go back, for sure.

We were looking for a dinner spot in El Paso that allowed dogs. The first search I did had Ripe at the top. I confess to ignoring the recommendation solely based on my negative reaction to the name of the restaurant. But all the websites kept putting Ripe at the top. So I put my initial reaction aside and set the GPS for the west side of El Paso. The location is about five minutes off the interstate in a strip mall setting with a patio at the front facing the parking lot. The service was attentive and friendly. We had a spinach dip, that was pretty good, as an appetizer. My wife had a beet salad with seared tuna on top. I had a pear salad with salmon. Both dishes were fresh and yummy. The fish on both were near sushi-grade cuts. The wine list was not big, but did provide a variety of choices. I wish they did not allow smoking on the patio, but I understand why they would. In all it was a good experience. Can you change the name, though? âRipeâ food is not a good image.

We went for the bone marrow on the recommendation of a lcoal and were not disappointed. An appetizer in half for full - we took the full for just the two of us: 6 bones with the roasted marrow inside. And they bring you tortillas to put it in - a new style for us and just yummy! The arrechera (hanger steak) was pretty good, if a bit gristly - it was still tender reheated a few days later, which is pretty good for a steak. Enjoyed the presentation of the chicken enchiladas - which is more a cheese enchilada with chopped grilled chicken on the top - and I chose a salsa verde. Beans were good, too. The tres leches cakes is one of the better ones. At 7pm on a Saturday, the wait for a table was 45 minutes, and there's limited seating while you wait. Wish they offered margarita service while waiting in line! They did have beer and water in an ice cooler. We had nice margaritas with our bone marrow, though it didn't seem very strong, even though the waiter said they added a second shot for us. Service was very friendly and helpful. Parking was full when we arrived, except for one place on the street; looks like there might have been a dirt lot next door.
