We came in between lunch and dinner. Abby was our server and was very attentive and had a great personality. She suggested a drink (alcoholic) called EastCider. It was delicious. A cross between an apple cider and beer. But much better that all the other Hard Apple Ciders. The meal was great with nice meat. We had three meat dinners each and but for a weak and not so flavorful barbecue sauce we were very pleased. Thanks Abby.
I have no clue how their chicken is but their Fat Ernie breakfast burrito is huge and so yummy. Unlike most large burritos, the Fat Ernie is flavorful and not overlay stuffed with egg but compacted with many ingredients. A must try!!

We went downtown to get a sandwich and soup in the pouring rain. The place is quaint. The people are wonderful and friendly. We got a chicken salad sandwich and a tuna sandwich and hot chili. They were passable. Nothing to write home about.
Home of The Original Golden Tenders, Golden Chick is a fast food restaurant chain offering Golden Fried or Roast Chicken, Fried Catfish, Sandwiches, Fresh Salads, Yeast Rolls and a variety of Sides.
Food is good, nothing different than you would expect from your basic chicken restaurant. You do get free ice cream though! Usually clean and good service.

Prices here have really increased, but food quality remains excellent. Ordered two $10 club sandwiches, $10 omelet plate! Very good but now priced with a ton of other places equal in quality and better atmosphere. Service was excellent as was the food. Going nearby, way worth the stop.

The only lake front restaurant in Central Texas. Come enjoy a margarita or cool iced tea while taking in the views of Belton Lake. Live Music and friendly staff with great food. Who could ask for more?
We enjoyed our last visit to the Dead Fish Grill (about a year and a half ago); however, things have apparently changed. We took friends over to the property for dinner. Our waiter was way too loud, interrupted our conversation when he returned to the table and - bottom line - certainly not well trained in the art and science of servery. I understood - as most staff appeared to be young and/or college students - so - essentially hourly employees (at the surface). The food (with the exception of the chicken pasta dish) was not well prepared. My wife ordered a smothered snapper dinner. The snapper was "adequate" - but a little over done. IT was supposed to come with mixed vegetables - but was served with collard greens (which we like) - but they were way over cooked and the ham / pork pieces in the dish were essentially shoe leather. I ordered a simple dish - fish and chips - the fish (allegedly cod) was cooked OK - but exceptionally greasy. I cannot imagine it was drained before plating as there were copious amounts of oil left on the plate after I ate one (less the oily coating). My friend's wife ordered the salmon plate - and frankly the salmon was to her liking but the accompanying "baby carrots" were burnt and inedible. We were gracious but departed very soon after dinner was over. I am afraid I cannot recommend this property for a dinner with friends unless they get a chef / cook who knows how to prepare food and a wait staff training program. Sorry. There are a large number of good restaurants in Belton that should be visited first.Hi, Donktex! Please contact the GM and share your experience. We want to ensure that we are taking all experiences- positive or negative serious and see them as teaching tools to get better! Thank you for your feedback!

After the âhipeâ from others, we gave them a try for lunch today. So....regular burger was good, rather small for $4, however fresh and juicy. Not nearly as good as was lead to believe. Ordered onion rings, again, on recommendation, very poor quality. Battered, not fresh tasting, likely frozen prepared. Over cooked, onion was thin and dry.

We have been family owned for over 25 years in Belton, Texas. In 2007 Staci and Ronnie Schoepf Jr. took over ownership. By 2009 the building had expanded and a concert / venue area had been added. The business is managed and ran on a daily basis by both S
Schoepf's isn't your typical Texas BBQ, it's more like something you'd find on the west coast, especially the sauce. We go there for a change of pace because we like the sweeter BBQ sauce you typically find in Texas. Schoepf's sauce is thinner and a has a little vinegar flavor. There are lots of savory sides to choose from and even a desert cobbler. Thanks try our sweet and spicy sauce next time. thanks

Great little Bar-B-Q restaurant with a full menu from salads to chicken fried steaks.
Great place to eat! Love their brisket and sausage. Great chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. if you love fried pickles .....order them. You get a lot of food! Great atmosphere. Why I didn't give 5 stars is that the tables always feel sticky.
