This is not a typical BBQ dive. It's a pretty large restaurant more towards the upscale end with an upstairs section where seating is a bit more intimate. Unlike most BBQ restaurants, this one also serves steak. The pimento cheese dip appetizer is AWESOME and you can get extra chips if they run out before dip does. The pulled pork is great. Brisket is better than average. Chicken sandwich (The Volunteer) is juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The steak fries are crispy and flavorful. The BBQ beans have a perfectly spicy kick. The staff is very attentive, courteous, and professional. No slouches or sloppy servers. Prices are targeted exactly where they should be for the quality of food and level of service.

We were traveling through on our way to Nashville and needed to grab dinner. Found this very casual, low atmosphere place with pretty good food, Burger was excellent. Waitress was good.

I travel to Johnson City TN several times a year and was thrilled to find this great lunch spot. The Veggie sandwich was delicious and a great value. The potato salad was really good. Quick service and solid value. The counter staff was very friendly and very efficient. Our lunch arrived quickly. Can't wait to go back.

Stopped in on a saturday night for chocolate french silk pie to go. This is something u must stop in and get if u ever see a Perkins. Wanted to try the peanut butter french silk pie. Never disappoints. Excellent. There were only 2 couples dining in on a saturday night.

These are real Jersey subs. Fresh meats piled high, topped with fresh ingredients to your order, served on fresh bread. Just for comparison, my first sub in TN was a Subway. That had disgusting, dry, overcooked meat. This was freshly sliced red roast beef. It was wonderful. I'll be back.
