I visited the Chop House in Lexington a long time ago, and didn't find it that great, but after my visit on a road trip to this one in Kingsport, I am going to give my local one another shot. There don't seem to be a huge amount of choices for places to eat in Kingsport, so if you are looking for the best place in town...this is probably the place. I couldn't believe that they were almost fully packed on a Monday night. I was traveling alone so went and sat at the bar. It is a very dimly lit place (for atmosphere), so if you have trouble seeing, you may need to use a light on your phone.Charlie the bartender was so nice, at the end, he shook my hand...and I really liked that. Too many people today don't know how to give a good handshake or are afraid to give a handshake to a woman. It was a welcome gesture goodbye! Anyway, other than that, he was friendly without being pushy and is an excellent host.I had the small filet, mashed potatoes and burgundy mushrooms. I tend to like my food a bit over-seasoned, but nothing was needed, except I did add some pepper to my potatoes. No salt at all needed, and my steak was cooked perfectly. It was an enjoyable experience and it has inspired me to go back and try my local Chop House! We are so glad you had a favorable dining experience at The Chop House! Thank you for your loyalty. If there is ever anything we can do to ensure you have a 5-star dining experience, don't hesitate to ask.

I ordered 2 meals to-go last week. When I places the order I was 10 minutes away. She told me it would be about 25 minutes. I got there and paid. She went to the back and brought out my food. I'm always a little worried about getting orders to-go because people forget sauces and special orders. But this was perfect. The dressings and dips were right. And we even had rolls with butter. No complaints at all.

I think sometimes people in the service industry can forget how important their jobs are. I travel a lot and had been away from home almost a week when I stopped in the Longhorn. I am in Kingsport about once a month and we usually go to a nearby steakhouse competitor that is a little pricier. After tonight I think Longhorn will be my go to place every time I am in town.I had the 8 ounce Floâs Fillet and it was excellent. Cooked exactly as I had ordered it. Their steaks are flavorful and well seasoned. Much better than anything else I have tried in the area.Brook, my server, was pleasant and efficient and helped make it an enjoyable dining experience. This is where everyone in the service industry can make a difference when they do things right. I got to Longhorn after a long day. I was tired, missed my family and just wished I was home. After a great meal with excellent service, I was once more refreshed and ready to go. I hope the team at Longhorn, from the person who greeted me at the door, to my server, to the cooks, to the Manager who checked on my meal, to the folks who clean the restaurant and made it spotless know how much their efforts are appreciated

First of all, our waitress looked like she was mad at the world. No smile, barely spoke. Chopped steak was overcooked and dry, toast was barely toasted, the sweet potato soufflé was ok. Wouldn't go back. There's plenty of better places to dine at.
