Things to do in Buchanan
Had lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The place was very busy but we decided to try it anyway. The server took our order fairly quickly then we sat and waited.....and waited...and waited. Finally after 45 minutes I saw two other tables who come in LONG after we did get their food so I questioned one of the waitresses. She asked what I ordered. I told her and she said well it takes 5 minutes to fry a chicken fried steak and the other table ordered the special. I HAD ORDERED A SPECIAL ALSO! They said they would look into it. About ten minutes later we finally got our food. Not sure if they dropped our ticket on the floor or what. The waitress apologized for the wait and said they would give us a discount. 10 percent! I was thinking 50 % might be justifiable. All that aside, the food was only average. Both of our orders lacked seasoning, and the orders were on the small side. Guess we will stick to Cracker Barrell.

Quality Inn staff recommended this restaurant & we arrived hungry. Service was ok. Spinach queso app had good flavor but was waaaay too watery and chips were cold so we canât recommend that. Husband ordered salmon dinner & it was very good w/fresh dill sprig & extra garlic as requested, fresh green beans & nicely seasoned rice. Side salad was simply iceberg. Dinner roll was not served. Asked for sparkling water ie club soda & recvd something weird (tonic water?) and sent back. My Rueben sans meat & 1000 Island (as requested, so its basically a grilled Swiss cheese w/sauerkraut on rye, weird I know but which I love, yum!) arrived pretty soggy on the bottom, probably from waiting till the salmon dinner was done. Wouldnât order again. Had plain baked potato instead of fries w/home made pico which had fresh cilantro & was very good. Took homemade cheesecake back to the room & it was DEEELISH w/choc & caramel sauce. Not sure if weâd come back but definitely better than any chain restaurant ie Applebeeâs etc. Waitress Brittany was a sweetheart but we travel almost full time & have learned not to let our credit cards out of our site. We much prefer to pay ourselves on the way out rather than watch our credit card disappear with staff; we didnât like that there was no cash register to pay. This is no reflection on the trustworthiness of the establishment but rather the times we live in. RFID âelectronic pickpocketsâ are a sad fact of life.

This is the best butcher shop I've ever run across. The people that run this are friendly efficient and use only the top choice meat available. The prices are great!Do yourself a favor and get a barbecue plate while you are there. You will not regret it.They have a wide variety of tasty beverages, as well as picnic, and Lake supplies.
I eat here several times a year. The food is usually pretty good, but the service can be quite slow. They are very friendly, but it seems the kitchen is on the small side.
Great local resturaunt. Food is much better then you would expect from a small restaurant. Our party had a Bacon Cheesburger, Grill Cheese, Philly Cheese Steak, Onion Rings, and Fries. Everyone said their food was excellent. Very reasonable prices. What stood out about this place & why I wrote a review....Customer Service!!! This place has it. Waitress is friendly. Owner was on site, he heard me saying I was worried I wouldn't eat anything, I am a picky eater. He came over and told me don't worry about it, he would make me anything I wanted. Then my mom wanted to order a steak, but it wasn't late enough in the day, they age their steak for 5 hours when they start seving it at 4:30p.m. But because she couldn't order the steak, the owner cooked one up anyway and gave us a sample. He went above and beyond. I hope everyone who visits or lives in the Kentucky Lake Area stops by Dodds Country Store. The special they had as of 03/18/14 was $11.99 for a 16oz New York Strip, Baked Potato, Salad, and a Roll.
Marker 66 is fabulous! A great place to eat lunch and/or dinner Wed-Sun. They offer a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating and an ample menu with tasty appetizers, sandwiches, salads, full dinners and nice desserts. Marker 66 is located in the former and current Marina Office building/barge/dock, so easily accessed by auto or boat. The locals know about this new bar & grill, and absolutely love it. You will, too, once you make your visit. This is a MUST eat location off State Road 79.

Went for my sons birthday on Sunday and had the Buffett... Food was great. Had the catfish and hush puppies and he had beef n noodles both dishes were great. Strongly recommend the Sunday buffet. Waitress was polite as always and place is always clean.. People always want to complain they have to wait for their food ( which is bc they are always swamped.) Well here's your solution go on Sunday no wait time bc you get to go directly to the buffet table... Problem solved for all you impatient people who want fast food at a nice restaurant... I think the place is great and so is the staff

In winding though northwestern Tennessee to pick up a rescue Welsh Terrier, Blues Landing was recommended as the place for dinner. Depending upon the crowd and the time of day, this can be a laid-back peaceful dinner, or a motorcycle club fueled party - your choice. Billed as a Cajun Creole restaurant, the food here is quite good, if a bit improbable - everything seafood must of necessity arrive frozen. But Blues has a road house vibe, generous outdoor dining and a nice view set back from the main drag. Parking is plentiful and the waitstaff is pleasant. Live music is offered - click on their Facebook page to see the schedule. Be warned - they serve certain drinks in handsome copper mugs - and then put a hold on your credit card for several $$$ until you turn them back in.you

Friday morning breakfast at this restaurant is a tradition for our family (during our family reunion). The service is always attentive and kind. Our coffee cups never got less then half full. Their menu is simple classic breakfast fare done right. Their biscuits are fantastic, especially with honey or sausage gravy. I love ordering a side of home fries, well done, with ranch.
