We are a cottage style Bed and Breakfast located in Martin, Tennessee (northwest TN). We are a charming mix of relaxation, southern hospitality, and an old fashioned country breakfast.
Pecan Grove BNB truly Exceeded our Expectations! The cabins are all AMAZING & each truly transports you to another time & place. So Quiet & Peaceful, but each meets all our modern day needs/requirements. Cockroaches, dirty linens, dirty mattresses and box springs, bathroom vanity moldy and falling apart. Would not stay here for free. Would not provide refund or change rooms. $155 per night for this. I do not understand how this place is allowed to rent rooms like we had.

Let's start with no coffee maker. Office has coffee but doors locked until 7am. No housekeeping because I stayed multiple days? Flat stained pillows. Don't walk barefoot in the room because the bottom of your feet will be dirty. Pool empty and pool area locked so no place to sit outdoors. Dirty overall. Not worth the money.

Just the basics and no washer and dryer in room. Our room was too far from the action. We were a short car ride from the main lake but finding a parking place was awful. We’re not given the option to stay on the big lake.

Went with a group and stayed one night. We were with a group of about 30, but our group was just 7. We had a spacious cabin that had beds for all of us..2 couples. We went on a short hike. Had a delicious dinner prepared by owner, Gregg. We sat around a cozy campfire, listening to night sounds and looking up at a magnificent sky; after listening to interesting history about Charit Creedk from Gregg. After Gregg prepared us another , yummy and filling meal, breakfast, we hiked to Twin Arches…beautiful trail. We really enjoyed Charit Creek and have been telling our friends about it.

My family booked a cabin through Cabins of the Smokey Mountains. We had a very pleasant experience. The cabin was clean and as advertised. Even when we got snowed in for the day the amenities kept everyone busy. We will be back.

I struggle with how to write this review. I could be as simple as the title and say it was perfect and everything was "the best" because it was; however, that would read like every other simple review. On the other hand, to go into detail about everything that was above and beyond our expectations would be incredibly long and exhausting to read. In short, I acknowledge that this place is expensive and that the additional activities are expensive, but it is absolutely worth it if you are on the fence. We were there for our 10th anniversary and it was a perfect vacation for a couples getaway. The views, the property, the food, the service, everything was incredible. Couple unique things I'd mention: Delivering the level of service Blackberry Mountain does is hard but they do it effortlessly. That said, you can often learn a lot more about service and what they care about or what their culture is when faced with adversity. We had a fly fishing guide that couldn't make our scheduled visit. The activities hub was extremely apologetic, they rescheduled for the afternoon, covered the cost of the trip, and booked us a great class in its place. They wanted to make abundantly clear that was not within their expectations of service. Further, every other service member we encountered was aware of what happened, apologized and tried to do extra to make up for it. The positive response was 10x the inconvenience (which was small). To me it showed more about how much they care and how they believe in their standard of excellence. I would strongly recommend the octopus starter at The Fire Tower for dinner. Its easily one of the best dishes I've ever had. It may be recency bias, but I'm not sure I can remember any other dish in my life that comes close. The paddle boarding experience, which we did on Chilhowee Lake, was truly amazing. It was a small, serene lake with beautiful views. We had the lake to ourselves and our guide took us to little alcoves with waterfalls and other interesting local finds. We loaded up on experiences, when we go back, I'd like to explore more of the on-property fitness/wellness activities. We did one stretching session which was really great. The instructor was incredibly knowledgeable. Lastly, I simply cannot describe how incredible the views are and how peaceful and well maintained the property is. The attention to detail, quality of service and quality of accommodation is incredible, yet still feels like a part of the beautiful landscape.

Hiked up there even though the lodge was closed, but still worth the hike, just make sure to give yourself enough time to get back before the sun goes down so start early. They put a notice at the trailhead stating it was closed, likely just for the season. The hike up there has views every which way you look. So if you bring a camera make sure to have a lot of memory on your card.

South Holston River Lodge is a year round all-inclusive fly fishing destination. We are host to one of the countries best wild trout fisheries with 6,000-7,000 fish per mile and the possibility of a fish of a lifetime. Our professional staff spares no detail to make sure you have the most enjoyable trip possible during your stay!
It's hard to find enough superlatives to describe our experience at the S Holston River Lodge. The rivers (S Holston and Watauga): beautiful, scenic, wild, and full of gorgeous wild browns and rainbows. The lodge (we stayed in the Caddis): comfortable, well-appointed, clean, and beautifully situated beside the river. The staff: accommodating, attentive, friendly—in a word: outstanding. The guides: patient, skilled, and great fun to be with. Just an unforgettable place with unforgettable people.
