I love that fact they don't blare loud obnoxious mariachi music, but rather a classy soft sound that lets you talk and enjoy the environment. The steak ,chicken and shrimp tacos are great. Their sauces are awesome and add even more flavor to their tacos. Although you usually have to ask them for the sauce. It also a good idea to ask for some of each to try.

Tenino is a quaint town with lots of history. Sandstone being one of the big history elements. Dine in a Tenino sandstone building is like dining in Tenino's history with home cooking that is excellent. Family recipes are used and the daily specials are very good also.

Not much to say,its a burger place with GREAT handmade burgers...FRESH MEAT..and good fries.Only wish they had smaller portions of the fries, since they dont come with the burger if you want them you have to order a large basket, which after the large burgers is a chore for even 2 people.First time I went there I got the Triple Burger...OMG...you better be really hungry....Since then I order the double....and with the fries, still stuffed when I leave.....might have to go down to the 1/3 lbs single burger next time.

Good prices, good food, and a pleasant atmosphere make this a delightful lunch stop. The waitress seemed distracted but was anxious to please. There are less than a dozen tables and the central lighting is florescent overheads, so the window tables are in demand.

If you love a Mocha hot or cold come enjoy what a REAL one should taste like they make them, consistently good. I love a good iced coffee too. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys coffee drinks.

I had heard good things about the restaurant and was curious to try it. Hubby and I went to dinner on a Thursday and while we did not order their daily special, we did get wonderful food. I ordered the pulled pork, had to save half for another day. Hubby ordered shrimp and devoured it. We shared dessert and had the creme brulle. Yum. Give it a try. Sit in the deck and watch the eagle catch it's dinner.

Located at a sharp bend in the main drag of Tenino, just before you head South out of town, this cute little espresso stand has really great coffee. Family friendly (fully dressed) staff offer quick service. Local ice cream is also usually available, as well as baked tidbits. One of our usual stops on back-road trips from Seattle to Centralia, Black Bear Espresso hits the spot. Get a punch-card for return visits.

License plates line the ceiling and walls. "Old stuff" like milk bottles and butter churns vie for attention with car bumpers and Betty Boop cartoons. Old formica top tables and chrome ringed chairs are all mis matched together. Probably the widest selection of malted milk shakes around, the "soda fountain" has everything classic. And the food is pretty good, too, classic "Murican" food like a BLT with plenty of bacon. Old timers and kids, it's a great place to eat. Worth going out of your way for, so if you;re on I-5 south of Olympia and hungry, take the trouble to go there.

I enjoyed my fajita burrito, which they made for me special order, with the beans and rice on the side.
The burrito was loaded with steak, onions and bell peppers with a mild red sauce. It was sll covered with a light coating of melted monterey jack cheese.
The taste was exceptional, and it was enough food to feed three people. I took two-thirds home to enjoy for the next day's breakfast and lunch.
The rest of my family enjoyed their orders too.
We washed it all down with a pint each of Modelo cerveza, on tap.
If you happen to pass through Tenino, on your way to Yelm, I recommend it.
The place was clean, and the staff was friendly.

Excellent home made food! I also love the farm decor inside and the garden outside. As for the food, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu from breakfast to dinner. But whatever time of day you go, you must try a hot homemade cinnamon roll.
Every time I return to the Old 99 Espresso and Diner I am greater by a friendly staff who is quick to take my order and ensure I am pleased with my meal.
