Ate with 4 other family members. The food was fantastic, the drinks were beautifully done and the staff was wonderful. We had an order of shrimp in coconut, wings, sweet and sour chicken and two skewers. All were beautifully served.
The sweet and sour chicken was as elaborate a dish as you will find. It had pineapple, apples and onions around a bed of rice. It was beautiful.
My coconut shrimp was a gourmet treat and also beautiful. Salads were nicely done.
Our only problem is that it took almost an hour for dinner to come. Everything was freshly prepared but an hour is just too long.
Atmosphere is interesting.

Just a walk away from the beach Northern Lights Restaurant is the place to be if you want to taste the caribbean cuisine while Reading a book offered by our new library. Surrounded by an enchanting garden, hammocks and the best fruits de mer on town this makes it the perennial favorite.
I was a bit disappointed in Northern Lights, perhaps because it had been so highly recommended by a Honduran acquaintance. The night I ate there, I was the only customer, which probably should have been a clue. I ordered the grilled fish filet, which came with a salad, rice, and fries. The salad was very good (large and extraordinarily fresh). The fish itself, however, was disappointing. It seemed fresh, but was underdone ... and trying to communicate this to the waiter was frustratingly unrewarding.

While in Tela, don't miss the fabulous opportunity of tasting the traditional and coastal cuisine of the Honduran North Coast. Our name anticipates your experience, Cesar Mariscos, a restaurant that is specialized in seafood. We have earned the fame and love of our customers by working two simple practices: the careful selection of our products, always fresh; and the recruitment and training of our staff. In our restaurant, you will always find a nice and welcoming family environment that will motivate you to enjoy the most beautiful sights of Tela Bay. On top of that, you will be surrounded by the autochthonous and Caribbean culture of Honduras. We hope to have the pleasure of taking care of you real soon!
The staff was friendly and the food was good. We enjoyed the atmosphere as you dine close to the beach and all of the activity and local flavor. Only issue was the beer could have been colder!Good evening SSWhip, Thanks for your feedback and we hope to see you soon. In regards to the beer temp, we’ll make sure to have a few of your favorite beer on a separate cooler just for you. Thanks again!

We were staying at Honduras Shores Plantation and had three lunches at the beach. The service is friendly but not speedy. That was fine as we were just hanging out enjoying the beach (which is amazing, with clean sand, warm water, and hardly another soul around.)
The menu is diverse, but not huge. We had the breaded fish plate (very good and clearly fresh), chicken nachos (so good we had them 3 times,) the chicken burger (not so good) and the fresh fish Sandwich (twice, although it was prepared quite differently the two times we had it.)
The pina colada and daiquiri were both delicious. The margarita was bitter. They have the typical beers at good prices.
I would recommend sitting at the tables by the beach (where we always sat) but if you are using the pool and sit around there, you'll be closer to the bar/kitchen, so the service could be a little faster.
Bottom line: Probably not a destination restaurant, but if you want good food at a fantastic beach, this easily fits the bill.

A little pricier than most places in town but the view makes up for it. The food was good and the beer was cold - can't ask for much more. We sought this place out because we heard it was owned by a Canadian.

Very popular place in Tela, they offer great cheap barbecue, or if you are willing to something really special they also have imported cut. Really casual place, but the food is good! Only problem they don't sell beers...but they left you bring your wine :)

Located right on the beach, Bella Italia offers very good food and a great place to have dinner. I had a salad with bruschetta and personal pizza, and it was more than enough food. Pizza has delicious thin crust, good ingredients, and wonderful flavor. Salad had fresh tomatoes, cubed mozzarella cheese, and olives.

At first glance the Asados Villalta appears to be a rather ordinary Honduran eatery. There is very little in the way of fancy furnishings and accessories. The chairs are of red and yellow plastic while the tables are of red plastic with no tablecloths. What it lacks in sophistication it makes up with very friendly service, an adequate menu and a sense of genuine hospitality. Te food is excellent and the portions are large. The best option are the parrilladas - barbeque with variety of meats. The atmosphere is open and informal. English is spoken.
