A tradition dating back to the city's origins as a colonial mining capital, silver is the focal point of Taxco shopping, and indeed the most popular tourist pursuit. All around the picturesque town you'll find sellers of silver finery, from open air markets to metal workshops to high end boutiques.

We were planning on going somewhere else, but a waiter from La Hacienda met us on the square and showed us the menu. When we found out they had our favorite Mexican wine, Casa Madero Shiraz, we decided to give it a try. It's a nice restaurant, located right on the street where there is a hairpin turn and you are constantly watching the white Volkswagon taxis negotiate it.
We had several things…a nice salad with goat cheese and nuts. This was very good. Next came a risotto with zeta mushrooms. This was tasty, but it was very small…only a few bites. For the main course we had the pork in a brown sauce. This was awful…something like you would have at Denny's. It was way over salted and just plain boring. The wine was excellent, of course, but overall the food was not worth the price.

Nice restaurant. Tia Calla has more than one restaurant in Taxco. I recomend the one near the busstation because of the great view on Taxco. The one at zocalo is in a basement. The food is also good though!. I recomend the flautas. Jummie!

This is a nice restaurant with an amazing view of the city. We traveled in from Acapulco and after a few hours our guide suggested this restaurant.
This is a mostly very positive review we enjoyed our meals alot the arrachera fajitas were delicious and a terrific portion as well. The Guac was pretty good though i need to ask that it be kicked up a bit as with many other places i get it from. My wife had the salad and just wanted to add on chicken salad and even after my friend explained it he brought her 2 separate orders. That was absurd.
When bill time came he went one by 1 with all the people in our party to ask what they had ordered and began tslkin money from all of us. About a 15 minute process.
Separate checks is not rocket science and can be done much easier.
The restaurant's worth visiting and fajitas had 2 thumbs up in my party.

On the main plaza in front of the main church
I have been at the restaurant twice within four months period. I liked the restaurant because of its location right in front of Santa Prisca. The view from the tables is superb!, The building is multistories , probably six to eigth floors, its doors connect the main square with a back ally. The place is clean and the food is ok. Last time we had a snack with guacamole, and a green juice.

Scaffecito se encuentra arriba del zócalo de Taxco y para empezar es la primera casa de William Spratling... ahora se convirtió en un restaurante donde la comida es una fusión de mexicano con italiano...como Lasagna mole o lasagna rajas con crema. S caffecito es un lugar muy tranquilo donde puede disfrutar de libros wifi y un buen café. hacemos pan mermeladas y salsas Scaffecito is located above the zocalo and is the first house of William Spratling. now it has become a elegant restaurant with italian fusion mexican ...lasagna mole or lasagna rajas and cream. scaffecito is a tranquil place where you may enjoy books, wifi, and especially agood strong coffee. we make our own bread marmalades and sauces
It is a cosy restaurant. The owner is from Italy they have the Mexican taste with a touch of Italy. At nights they prepare pizza and other specialties you can go there and ask, they have a good breakfast and meal.
If you don't like crowds, this will be one of your favorite places.
Enjoy

We came here for breakfast & were quite impressed with the setting and overall experience. This is located in the Los Arcos hotel. The ambiance is top notch, the service sufficiently attentive, and the food quite good. We will definitely return!!!

Frente al palacio municipal
With a pleasant but noisy Terrace overlooking the "Palacio Municipal" this place offers simple dishes in a informal environment. The staff works greatly to make you feel welcomed and are eager to suggest you the best dishes in the menu; which according to them every plate is their best since they are made in small portions as to not sacrifice quality. We chose a pizza stuffed with mushrooms, salami, peppers and onions. It arrived straight from the oven, with the dough slightly undercooked but not enough to ruin the plate. Above all the pizza was good, felt homemade and met the expectations. I would recommend this place if you are not with much time for looking for other options. Apparently they have live music during the weekends.

We visited this restaurant for dinner. The views from the rooftop are gorgeous. Really romantic.
The service is quite good.
We strongly recommend ordering mexican food. My boyfriend had the Pink Mole and it was really good. On the other hand, I ordered a pasta dish and it was pretty bad. We had a good guacamole though.
So, stick to the typical food and you'll be ok.

We were on an all day tour with Monopolis Tours out of MX City. Drove down 19th century main street in Taxco after visiting Plateria Moreno silver shop. Parked and walked to El Atrio Restaurant for lunch. Gave us a set price menu with three soups, three meat dishes and either water or coffee for 165 Pesos. We tried the chicken and
vegetable soups and both were good. I had pork chops and my spouse chicken
and these were very tasty. Everyone was offered a piece of chocolate cake. We had three glasses of jimica between us instead of water or coffee and were billed 35
Pesos for each glass. We wanted to pay by credit card, but advised the machine did not work. Overall the food was good, the service ok and the cost higher than it should have been. Too many other interesting restaurants in town, many on rooftops, to go to this restaurant, if you have a choice.
