Aino is the cafeteria-restaurant of Iittala Glass Factory (Iittalan Lasimäki, read separate Tripadvisor reviews). They serve small snacks, buns, doughnuts, hamburgers, salmon soup and buffet lunches. The large summer terrace is very good and there is a small playground near it. Food is OK and the location is quite idyllic.

Hermanni is a small café a bit out of town surrounded by quite a few second hand car dealers and small enterprise. Hermanni serves straight forward and simple Finnish home cooked food like meatballs in a reasonable price. That´s why it is popular among blue collar workers in the area. Cafés like Hermanni were extremely popular in the 1960´and 70´s, but unfortunately there aren´t many of them left. Hermanni is not posh, but on the hand food is good and portions are large. If you are a foreign visitor and you are looking for something utterly Finnish, I´d urge you to try it. The famous medieval Hämeenlinna Castle is quite close to Hermanni. It takes just some 10 minutes to walk to the café from the castle. Notice, that the opening hours are rather limited!

Friendly easy going coffee shop with good cream filled pastry and tasty sandwich. Everything is absolutely authentic. You can sit facing the window.

Cantina Pannuhuone is located right next to the Goodman shopping mall and doesn't look very inviting from the outside. The interior is quite nice, although with a little bit of tlc and some good eye it would be even nicer. Anyways, for dinner we had "the catch of the day" which was salmon (frozen, I assume) with creamy lobster sauce/dressing and small potato croquettes. I have to say I was positively surprised by the dish! The lobster sauce in particular was really tasty! The service was friendly and efficient. In the future I hope they add different types of coffee to their selection. Now you could only have basic coffee, no cappuccino, latte etc.

After visiting Hämeen linna we decided to have lunch here. They have a lunch offer from Mon to Fri which lasts until 3 pm, not sure if the offer gets changed much. During our visit it held many items, including a burger with a side of fries + 0,25l soda for 8,50â¬.It was a nice weather so we ate outside and the atmosphere was relaxed with quiet surroundings. There's the Hämeen linna's parking lot right next to the restaurant, so this is very convenient place to eat.We both ordered burgers, which were good. Nothing outstanding, but good and good value for money. They also serve ice cream, and beer & cider, if you fancy a cold one after walking around the castle yard.

Very nice, small cafeteria in the centre of Hämäänlinna. In my opinion the best cafe latte in the town is offered here. You can also select delicious salads and both, sweet and salty things with cafe. I highly recomment to visit in this cafeteria.
