Our family stopped there for lunch on saturday. There were hardly any other guests but staff personal having lunch. To our surprise after waiting for a long time we got really arrogant service. The weather was beautiful and it was lovely to sit on the outside terrace watching boats glide on a peaceful lake. The buffet food was nothing very special but it was alright. The appetizers and desserts were better than the warm food. Our child was happy to get a kids mug to drink from. Still we couldn't stop laughing later that day when we remembered what kind of welcome we received in Aulanko.

I had once again dinner at Vanajanlinna. Service minded staff and quality regarding the food is always excellent. Menu itself is not very wide, but very tasty. Atmosphere at Vanajanlinna reminds from old elegant castles.

Surprisingly it was our first visit here, as it is just over 5 minutes drive from home! Their speciality are waffles, we took the kreikkalainen vohvelit (greek waffles), which were excellent. In addition they have a craft shop, with an assortment of interesting items, also it is a working farm, with I believe myskihärkä (musk ox), making a distinctive bellowing sound! Will certainly visit again, maybe next time cycle there!

Had lunch and Sunday brunch here. Salmon with (rice?)noodles for lunch - sounds unconventional but it was one of the best fish dishes I've ever tasted. Thank you for that! Great value for money and friendly service. Recommended.

Central location, good atmosphere. Build in the cellar of a castle like old building. Thick old brick walls and arches. Lunch buffet was decent. Good salad. Classic finnish food. Coffee and dessert included. Reasonable price. Polite staff.

Brought here during lunch by local friends. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meals (had the salmon and potatoes). Perfectly cooked and delicious. Usually they have baked bread and more salad options but we came near the end of lunch so we missed out. Go early if you can.

In many ways a wonderful restaurant (old style interior, great location in the heart of the city), but the food wasn't anything special. Vegetarian risotto looked like pink porridge and the salmon plate was quite a disappointment with mashed potatoes - it reminded us of the lunches of petrol station restaurants. This time just low points for this nice place.Dear Jussi100,Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that we didn´t fill up your expectations this time. However nice to hear that you liked the surroundings.Hope to see you back!Regards,Eveliina Sales/ marketing
