I have just realised I have not written a review for Panko Chan despite many delicious visits! This is a wonderful Japanese fusion restaurant in Kingston - just what we needed! The staff are friendly and welcoming. The environment is cheerful and cute. The food is delicious and we love the Japanese style fish and chips. The mixed chips are delicious. The drinks menu include some nice Tassie offerings as well as sake. Every time we visit we have a wonderful time. Highly recommend! Oh - the rice bowls for lunch are delicious too.

Unassuming little shop, neatly presented but tucked away off the Chanel Highway, and to my enormous surprise it produced what are probably some of the best fish and chips I've ever had! Range of fish (the ling was good but the flake was great), perfect chips, very friendly.

Strongly suggest a visit when travelling south from Hobart. An older style pub with an interesting past and brilliant views of the marina and across the D'Entrecasteaux Channel to Bruny Island. On my recent visit, the locals were very friendly and willing to chat about Kettering, Bruny or boats.Meals are served from the main bar or a restaurant. I chose the bar service and thoroughly enjoyed some grilled local scallops, chips and salad ($30). The meal had fresh ingredients and the serving was plentiful. Complimented by a well poured schooner of Cascade Draught. The blackboard menu focused on local seafood but also covered a range of pub standards â Schnitzel, steak and even curries. Kids meals were available. I recommend a visit for a drink, or meal. A nice way to relax and wait for the Bruny ferry, or reflect on your trip to the island. Did I mention that view from the deck? The real Tassie pub experience.

Blue Eye is a quality seafood restaurant on Hobart's waterfront, cooking fresh and tasty local fish and seafood. It has a modern menu specialising in grilled fish dishes, seafood platters, and fish and chips.Try some local Bruny Island oysters or Spring B
The Blue Eye came highly recommended to us, so we made it our first dinner stop in Hobart. It could have been much better. Our server did not have any knowledge of the wine list and limited knowledge of the menu. From the time we ordered, it took 45 minutes to get our meal--very disappointing.I had the blue eye, which was slightly overcooked, while the roasted potatoes that came with it were undercooked. My wife had paella--plenty of good seafood, but the rice was overcooked and mushy. The food was so mediocre that we passed on dessert.

Vanidols is a modern Asian restaurant specialising in Thai cuisine. Their menu offers a wide choice of curries, stir fryâs and specialty dishes along with daily specials using seasonal produce and has never failed to deliver great taste and truly wonderful service. It is an inviting space to dine, always cosy and inviting. It is our go to Asian restaurant in Hobart and would highly recommend it plus itâs BYO!!
