Our first choice was booked solid so round the corner we went and had a beautiful underpriced breakfast consisting of poached eggs on sourdough with a very generous side of smoked salmon and two lattes.Used my union card so received 20% off.Two things single shot small coffee had flavour but a little weak and could improve on sourdough bread.

My friend and I had got off to an early start and so had not had breakfast when suddenly mid-morning it hit home that we were both very hungry. We did some quick research on TA and saw that we were close to what sounded like a quirky, casual place - just what we were looking for so off we went and quickly found the Milkbar with a carpark just outside. We stepped inside and was warmly greeted but the lady behind the counter. A bright smiling face and bubbly good cheer, she commanded the counter like Kirk on the bridge. This lady was here to feed and water so jump on board! It's May and whilst it's a sunny morning it's still a very crisp day so we order some ham and lentil soup, a great looking chick pea and mixed greens salad, and toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwiches on wonderful wholemeal bread. This cafe is odd in a romantic, almost shabby chic way. Eclectic furnishings in the front give way to a room at the back where a jumble of bibs and bobs from the last 50 or so years are for sale or just to be admired. A great old Mixmaster. A wonderful tea service. Kitchen canisters. Drink coasters. It all just throws your memories to the fore as you resist (well, I did more's the pity) buying anything. Amazingly quickly our cheery host brings our food and it is just fabulous. Homemade soup, delicious sandwiches and a salad so tasty you wonder if all vegetarian offerings are as good as this. The Milkbar is a find. Go discover it yourself.

Firrst chinese cafe in launceston..Wonderful food including coffee, bubble tea, sandwhiches, fish&chips, and large selections of chinese food.. With lowest price in town
We were really happy to find this restaurant after reading some reviews from Zomato site. We came from Melbourne ( a city with so so many Asian Restaurants ) - Chi Chi met all our needs. We ordered Spring Rolls, Sweet & Sour pork, Pork Ribs with Peking sauce, Home cooked Tofu, Eggplant dish, Seafood Hokkien mee & plain white rice. All these dishes were flavourful, not too oily or too salty! So yummy. Desserts we ordered 2 fried bananas with ice cream and the best dessert is the Red Bean Pancake with ice cream. All these for $118! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Consistently has one of the best coffees in Launceston. Staff are awesome, and easy to chat to if you have any special requirements. The cafe has a car park behind the cafe or on street parking, making this cafe an easy place to catch up with friends / family. The menu always changing and the food is delicious. Highly recommend a visit.

Bryher focuses strongly in using only local suppliers and ingredients.
Dropped by this delightful cafe following a local recommendation and went with friends. It was so good that my wife and I came back another day. The baked eggs with ham hock was stunning and our pick of the selection. The portion size perfect and delicious. Great friendly service which was spot on.

I had what is probably my most delicious breakfast ever. Everything was simply delicious. The most gloriously cooked mushrooms, an absolutely sumptuous "hash brown" (but to call it a hash brown is an insult because it is fluffy potato, spiced/seasoned and perfectly crusted and nothing like the bland hash browns you get anywhere else). Great poached eggs, good sausage and great bread. The mushrooms were the best fried mushrooms I've ever had. I would definitely definitely recommend this place. I will certainly return next time I'm in Launceston.Oh, the decor is really quirky and interesting too. And the staff were wonderful. Plus the prices.were good.
