New restaurant (2009), very good food, certainly for Boilivian standards!
A place specialized in steak, one of the best ones in Tarija, the meat was thick and evenly cooked keeping the color of the meat, the taste was wonderful and the meat was tender. They offer a salad bar with 8 different options for salads and they also have rice and some potatoes. Definitely a place to try in Tarija if you love to eat meat.
Where to eat Latin food in Tarija: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Its located on a hill across the street from a colonial church. The restaurante is in a colonial house. Very small and cozy wine cellar. It has a back yard with an amazing view. The food is awesome, I would suggest the picanha (top sirloin), and is one of the few places in the region where they will cook it as you please. Could have a bigger variety of cocktails, but regarding wines there are several varieties and brands both local and imported to Bolivia. I definitely recommend to visit when you are in Tarija or passing near by.

El lugar es muy bonito, la gente que maneja el lugar es muy amable en el trato, la comida es excelente. La comida no es cara y se esmera bastante por que te sientas bien tratado. Me encanto eso que a media comida te pregunten si todo esta bien.

Since most meat restaurants only open at night you good have some nice cheap steak for lunch at this restaurant, but don't expect the meat quality you can get at night in the other restaurants (although take in account that at Chingo's you'll be paying half or one third of the price at the other restaurants).
