Taebaek (Korean pronunciation: [tʰɛ̝.bɛ̝k̚]) is a city in Gangwon province, South Korea. Its name is shared with that of the Taebaek Mountains. Situated in 650 m ~ 700 m, Taebaek is the highest city in South Korea.
The South Korean valley town of Jeongseon, in Gangwon province, is well known for its five-day market, a bonanza of fresh fish, produce, herbs, homemade kimchi, cloth, performances and street food stalls.
