The Žilina Region is one of the eight Slovak administrative regions and consists of 11 districts and 315 municipalities, from which 18 have a town status. The region was established in 1923, however, in its present borders exists from 1996.
Oščadnica is a village and municipality in Čadca District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. The village is now a well known touristic resort, offering private apparments and agrobusiness. During the winter a ski resort Oščadnica-Veľká Rača is a popular destination.
Čadca ( pronunciation (help·info); until 1918 Čatca, Czača, Hungarian: Csaca, Polish: Czadca) is a district town in northern Slovakia, near the border with Poland and the Czech Republic.
