Didn't dine here on 26 January but a Wednesday evening late in June when the restaurant put on a special 'Native Australian Dinner' - a four-course meal featuring all native Australian produce plus matching wines for each course courtesy of Lowes wines from Mudgee. The deal was a $100 per head, so not too cheap, but we took a punt and were very happy that we did. It was the one set menu for everyone, and for an appetizer we had a bite-size spanner crab damper roll with bush-tomato jam (plus matching wine), followed by entree bush-spice cured kingfish with finger limes and macadamia. All good but the main course was just sensational, kangaroo loin with davidson plum sauce, greens and saltbush dumplings. It was accompanied by a superb 2015 Zinfandel from Lowes that we later found retailed for $75 a bottle. Should add that the man from Lowes was very generous in his pourings. Dessert was also brilliant: a lemon myrtle burnt alaska washed down with a late harvest Riesling. Couldn't fault the service, either. A great night out, all round.

Food was simply divine. Marriage of flavours were just exquisite. Really exceeded our expectations. Small, cosy and minimal decor restaurant in a terrace. Service was great. We had the 8 course degustation. The restaurant was more than happy to accommodate, 2 in our party of 6, with dietary requirements. Will definitely return.

Beware of overrated this restaurant, nothing wow ,food was tasteless lack of flavour no seasoning, nice decor but where it's end .Wow, it appears we have really disappointed you to be described âoverrated and worthlessâ and rated 1 star due to the seasoning not being to your liking. We would love the opportunity to speak with you to understand what could have happened to make you so passionately negative aside from the amount of salt and pepper used. This is the last thing we want our valued guests to feel after experiencing Platform 818. I will appreciate it if you can contact me at [email protected] at your convenience to discuss as we cannot come close to matching your user name to any bookings we have had recently.Akshay

What an amazing experience here. My husband and i came for our anniversary and we are so happy we did. The service and food was fantastic. Our host Joyce was fabulous even organizing a special dessert for our anniversary. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was great. You have views of Cockle Bay and can even watch the chefs cooking the food. I would highly recommend this place.Dear winnie2078,We very much appreciate your comments regarding your visit to The Ternary. It is always a pleasure to receive feedback; we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one.Kind Regards,Anthony FlowersDirector of Culinary

Kitchen closes at 3pm Monday - Friday & 3:30pm on weekends. Social Brew Cafe - something of an oasis of good food and drinks in Pyrmont. Where, letâs face it, the cafe options arenât as abundant as one would like. Which isnât to say weâd just head there o
We came here for a late breakfast after checking the reviews on TripAdvisor and werenât disappointed. It does get very busy and we booked a table which Iâd recommend. We still had to wait a bit on arrival for our table but the staff were very attentive and we were seated pretty quickly. Food was delicious and came out promptly. The juices are great (particularly the option to have them spiked)and taste fresh. Would definitely return!

A reasonable variety of modern Australian cuisine served promptly. An impressive wine list and good service. We very much enjoyed the mussels. The room was at capacity when we dined there last Friday evening so it was very loud. Fine dining prices.

This little cafe in Norton Street is great value for money. We visited for an early dinner with our dog and were well looked after on an outside footpath table. The waiter was most obliging in ensuring they could cater for food intolerances and he made us feel very welcome. The meals were not complicated and expertly prepared. It was a treat on a week night when we didn't feel like cooking and on the whole a positive experience.

We ate here not long after the restaurant first opened and had a wonderful meal. Had wanted to come back for a long time and finally made it. The food was just as good as we remembered it. Each course was excellent and beautifully served. It is expensive but well worth it.

Light & Modern French Fine Dining, yet with BYO.Could be described as Modern Australian with French influences or Lighter French Cuisine. Quality rather than quantity; starting from the initial bread with lovely olive oil and balsamic vinegar dipping sauce, progressing to the ceviche king fish entre & twice cooked pork belly with well balanced accompanying sauce and salad. My partners scallop entre and duck main were also very good. The restaurant has a lovely relaxed décor, with tables not too close together allowing easy conversation without having to raise ones voice. The wine prices are very reasonable, but if you have a favourite bottle of red at home take it with you as will only cost you $10 corkage.Only minor whinges are that steamed vegetables were string beans only and that waiters were slightly on the under attentive side.
