My second time to the local. My first was a bad experience, but wrote it off. We tried again Saturday night before Halloween. They had been advertising on the radio about the big costume contest for a couple weeks. I was excited to go! Knowing they don't serve any food except frozen pizza we stopped down the road and had an excellent meal. We walked into the Local and found very few people, even less in costume. It was early (8 pm) so we let it slide. The bartenders made it very clear there was no table service. We decided what we would drink and My wife said she'd buy the first round. 3 margaritas and a dark and stormy please. Now confusion took over. Whats a dark and stormy? Whats Bitters? How do you make a margarita? What kind of tequila do you want? Finally the drinks were on the bar. 3 margaritas in 4 oz margarita glasses filled to the top with ice. One good sip and the glass was 1/4 emptied. The dark and stormy was great! Good thing they had advice. Now the tab comes. $28. Margaritas $8 each! $4 for the Dark and stormy (That was worth 8) weak drinks in Northern Wisconsin? Goodbye LOCAL.

We initially stopped at a different Siren restaurant and waited for 10+ minutes and were not greeted; so we left. We went to Pour House and loved it! The fish fry buffet was delicious, reasonably priced, a good variety of options, hot, and plenty of food even though the restaurant was crowded. A great place!!

Consistently good food, large portions for a very reasonable price. Love Friday nights broiled fish! Hugh Sunday breakfast! Small kitchen but they put out a large amount of food.

It is just ok, no problems with food or service, but way overpriced for the area.Cheeseburger $10, add $2 for fries, comes with a shot-glass size (literally) cole slaw.Add $2 for lemonade, and you have a $14 plus tax and tip burger meal that is nothing special at all.Cannot recommend

The service (especially our waitress Jody) was fantastic, but unfortunately the food was just mediocre. The Friday night fish fry is very good, as was the prime rib sandwich. The other food was just fine - nothing I would hurry back for. They do have a new general manager, so hopefully things will be improving shortly.
The Hillside is north of Danbury and out of the way of anything else. They have adequate parking for both vehicles and ATV's as well as a fuel station. Their food is typical bar food, and offers fish fry on Friday nights. I have never experienced bad service as each time I have visited, our bartender was attentive. I would like to see an expanded specialty beer selection as an alternative to national brands. Maybe a Summit Pale Ale?

Stopped in for the Friday night fish fry. Sat out on the deck. The waitress asked if we needed a menu and we said no. 30 minutes later we finally got her attention! Told her we wanted to order the fish fry. Fish was COLD! Asked for a re-order of fish...almost left after another 30 minutes! 1.5hrs to get a fish fry???

Your typical lake bar in northern Wisconsin. The staff and the atmosphere are wonderful. Drink prices are reasonable and the breakfast I had here was very good. Order the glider omelette and there was nothing wrong with it. Great place to stop and relax after a day on the lake.

Went to Rosenthal's for a Friday night dinner. Having never been here before, the location was easy to find from local map and there was ample parking. Inside was very clean and well decorated, with a large bar and plenty of high top and low tables for seating. We sat down and were promptly greeted by a server who took our drink order. Rosenthal's offers a Friday night fish fry (broiled or fried) with choice of potato, coleslaw, and bread. For an upcharge, you can substitute soup or salad for the coleslaw. They also offer sandwiches, wraps and burgers, as well as what I call "supper club dinners" (ribs, steaks, walleye, shrimp, pasta, chicken dinners ranging from $15-$29) and also make homemade pizza. Pizza pricing ranges from $10 for cheese to $30+ for multiple topping pizza. (They do offer the option of a 10" gluten free pizza.) I enjoyed the BLT and my partner had the fish fry. Both were very good! We each had a beer @ $5.00 each. Overall, we enjoyed the service and the food, but have eaten at other places more economically priced in the area. As a sidenote, I did check Rosenthal's website and they do explain that their burgers are fresh never frozen, and their produce is fresh (not mass produced) and the cheese on their pizza comes right from Burnett Dairy.

I love this place. Have seasonal cabin just down the road. If you like a good fish fry better stop in. Nacho's come out on plate so big the regular order will feed 4 people. Good bartenders and you leave the place knowing you will be back. They have a different special everyday. Try the jumbo fried shrimp on Sunday for $1.00 each and free taco's on Sunday till gone.
