Excellent Asian cooking with mediterranean fusion. At last but not least one should taste Chinese grappa which is very special. We loved the nice atmosphere and really warm welcome by the young patrons. Of course we'll come againâ¨

we went with wife and two kids. we go every weekend to a sushi restaurant and so choose the all you can eat option as otherwise the cost would be too high for four people. we had been walking the ponte tresa market and looked at shops all morning so we were famished. we see this place and decide to go in and try it out. The place is lovely, nice ambience and little booths that are really well made. we sat down looked at the menu and were very excited many new plates we had not tried yet. Seeing our hunger and the new menu we ordered quite a lot of food. This is where it all went sour, the waitress looks at me and says: "You ordered too much I wont bring it to you as it would go to waste." we start a 5-10 minute discussion stating we know how much we eat and that if anything is left over we will pay full price for what is not eaten. she moans and puffs and walks off all irate. this ruined the meal which is a shame cause the food is amazing and well presented. throughout the meal she came back 2/3 times asking if we were full and agreed we had ordered too much food. in the end we ate everything we had ordered and just to prove her wrong we ordered more food and ate he. Even when we paid she still huffed and puffed that we had ordered too much food. Basically to sum it all up the place is nice, the food is good, the plates presented well. However our experience was ruined by a sloppy waitress and her bad attitude and so we will not return to this restaurant.

We went there three times, and never have been disappointed. But you need to book especially on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. We took japanese ravioli, chinese ravioli, small sushi plate (12x), mixed tempura (3 shrimps and some vegetables), 8x rolls, fried melanzane stuffed with meat, a bottle of chardonnay, 2 espressos: 70 Euros totally, which is fair since the quality of food was good. The staff is really friendly and available for explanations on food, and at the end a small glass of limoncello or liquor is offered. The big advantage compared to othe Japanese in Lavena Ponte Tresa is that it is centrally located, 100m from the Swiss border.Try it, you will not be disappointed.

chinese, Japanese food
As North Americans, we are accustomed to Chinese food being relatively inexpensive. This is not the case in Ticino (Switzerland), and we can never get used to the prices. Ponte Rosso is a quick trip over the border into Italy from Switzerland, and the food is better than we've found in Lugano. We order the Hot and Sour Soup (Zuppa Agropiccante) and Fried Dumplings (Ravioli Brasati) every time, and then experiment with everything else. We've actually found their sushi to be better than the Chinese food.In the six years we've lived here, we've gone to this restaurant at least twenty times. They're great for large groups and also for families with kids.

I didn't know what to expect, having heard both bad and good about this restaurant. The sushi was very good, I really enjoyed it. However, the service was slow and the waiters were never smiling.

The quality of the fresh fish and the beautiful presentation make this Japanese restaurant a wonderful place to eat. We were very pleasantly surprised by the innovative take on some old favourites. Charming service, but not overly effusive; clean and cool atmosphere; great food. Now our favourite of the (many) ethnic restaurants in Ponte Tresa.
