The mountain lodge Fluhalp at 2606 m altitude is located in the ski or hiking area Sunegga Blauherd Rothorn. The large sun terrace with a spectacular view to the Matterhorn invites you to relax and enjoy. During the winter season (Christmas to Easter), a
We have eaten here quite a few times over the years and the food is really enjoyable. Lunches tend to merge in the memory a bit in Zermatt, but I am pretty sure we both had gnocchi with smoked salmon; our abiding memories are that it was delicious and not, by Zermatt standards, terribly expensive. It remains one of my favourite places to lunch when skiing.

Tanja and Dave run this stylish restaurant hut at Rippfelalp in Zermatt, and it hit the spot on a rainy vacation day, when three friends and I hiked through the forest with no agenda. As if by magic, the skies opened oh-so-briefly, just as we arrived at their patio, giving us a mystical view of the shrouded Matterhorn. Then, we enjoyed gourmet salads and wine as well as our hosts' good humor. They are both characters with many stories to tell and clearly love greeting hikers and dignitaries alike in their charming spot.

This restaurant is located approximately 30 min away from the Sunegga Station. If you are skiing you will not be inclined to visit it as you will have to go back down to Zermatt after your lunch and will have to take the train again if you want to continue skiing. This beeing said, it has a great terrace facing the Matterhorn. The inside is quite small but the atmosphere is cosy. The owners are real "Zermatt people", meaning quite rude but if you can "break the ice" you may even have them smile! For me, this restaurant has one of the finest food in Zermatt: the products are of high quality and the cooking is very sophisticated. It does not have Gault et Milliau points, like many others in Zermatt, but actually it should!

Right in the heart of Zermatt, a few steps down the street of the church you find our bakery with all you need on the go! Everything is home- and handmade with local ingredients whenever it's possible ! Don't miss our "chocolate-Matterhörnli" as well as t
There is nothing nicer when you are on holiday than looking into a bakery window, admiring the bakes. Of course I was drawn inside, allowing myself to absorb all the beautiful smells, and enjoy seeing their full range of bakes. Decided on the local strudel, omg, it was delicious.
