We stayed in Ponte Tresa for two nights. On the second evening we decided to look for a Pizza. A friend gave us the address of Da Renato. We were a bit early and the place was still empty. The service was friendly and efficient. We got a big and tasty Pizza with a lot of Salami, Cheese, Vegetables, Spices etc. Very tasty and well made. The cozze are good. The spaghetti (scoglio, frutti di mare, vongole) are average. Pizza is average for Italy / quite good for Switzerland. Just a normal restaurant to grab a bite when in Pone Tresa.

This is probably the best option for italian food in the whole region. Fish and seafood always fresh and tasty! Pizza is delicious and wood-fired. If you like pasta, try the pignata which is a terracotta pot with spaghetti and seafood in cherry tomatoes, garlic and herbs, covered with pizza bread and baked in the oven. Once served, the bread is cut open. They manage to prepare this even well 'al dente'! The salads are abundant and varied. Service is very friendly and prompt! Even the view over Lake Lugano is perfect - if you get a window table. In the summertime you can sit on the terrace on top of the building. Make sure you book your table under +39 0332/550311. Highly recommended!

We tried to find a nice spot in the city for lunch but left 2 other establishments because of no service. Came across Vitti and immediately liked the ambience. The lady serving us was extremely friendly and very helpful to assist in compiling a vegan friendly lunch menu. This restaurant is in the style of a German beer cellar. While most restaurants in this part of Switzerland are Italian in style and serve mainly pizza and pasta, Osteria Battello has a wider choice on the menu including fondue. The fondue came with bread and potatoes to dip in the melted cheese and long forks for dipping. As we have two young children, they made the fondue without alcohol. We also enjoyed some ravioli as a side dish. The restaurant is pleasant and clean and the service was friendly.

Ogni volta una riconferma, stavolta ho chiesto mooolto last minute una pizza vegana e Edi me ne ha preparate al volo 4!!! Top davvero....le ho prese tutte e ho fatto super bene! Per il mio compagno ho preso 2 tranci non vegan e alla fine ha super apprezzato la sua e la mia....inoltre ho potuto fare due chiacchiere con Edi, una persona super disponibile, sorridente e alla mano...solo l accoglienza sua e di Barbara merita 5 stelline! La pizza.....meravigliosa, morbidosa, genuina, originale, creativa e con ingredienti scelti! Grazie e spero a presto!

This place really wowed me... It just has been reopened wth bigger facilities, new menu and more rooms in the hotel. I recently spent a week over the New Year. Staying in the villa next to this restaurant. Although we had a number of different places during our stay this was by far the most superior. Had the pleasure of spending New Year's Eve and was made so welcome by the staff.

On my way back to Holland I stayed for 1 night in Ponte Tresa and had dinner at Ristorante San Michel.We arrived quite late. First impression was not good. Many guests were already enjoying their deserts and they looked like cheap ice scoped on a plate. The restauarant looks outdated, somewhere stuck in the '80's, pffff I guess we'll survive.Boy were we wrong.We took a salad, how exciting can it get? This one was really good. Full taste and lots of variety.Main course was risotto with Ossobuco. Amazing. Wonderful and realy tasty. They had excellent wine which suited our courses perfectly.We had a wonderful time and can recommend this place to everybody. When I am in the area, I know exactly where to go.thanks for a great evening.
