It's not a bad place. Staff is nice and the deco gives the place a cozy environment. The down for me was the price i paid for a tart ... Tarte aux fruits du saison.6 euros ... It was delicious but, it was a big cookie with pastry cream and strawberries. Super small for the price. When i think about tarts, i don't expect a cookie with topping.

The four of us shared a large and a small pizza and two green salads. The pizza was excellent as was the service. The restaurant is unpretentious and we were the only English speaking visitors.

Le Cabanon is a family café-restaurant located in the Champex-Lac resort in Valais. Enjoying an idyllic location on the shores of Lake Champex, everyone will be able to find their place and enjoy themselves, indoors or on the terrace. Le Cabanon also offe
This lovely local restaurant offers a stunning serene view of the lake surrounded by mountains in the heart of Chapex lac, a tiny lovely village that will sure to make your heart warm and happy when visit. Highly recommend to just relax and sit down to get the sunbath. Fish here is wonderfully fresh with good sour cream sauce.
We have a chalet in Champex further up the long and winding road, but we found ourselves in Orsieres doing business, and as we planned to go shopping later further down but the shops were closed we decided finally to go to Chez Zezza for lunch. What a marvellous lunch it was! I had the very best beef tartare I have eaten, perfectly cut and balanced in flavour and was offered a second helping of fries, my wife ate a lovely warm goats' cheese salad, copious and delicious. The place was full of locals and burly working men evidently enjoying their good food, and repeated compliments were heard as people were leaving. Typical of the generous spirit of the place was the offering of a tiny mars bar and a similar snickers with our two decent sized coffees at the end. Good hearty food at reasonable prices for this expensive country. Very much recommended.

Visited the place on Swiss national day. Glad we could get a table as most restaurants in the town center was full.Very nice and attentive young waitress trying hard to serve us in English. Foods was good and tasty. Tried the famous Swiss national food, fondue, here. Lot of cheese and love the mushroom that mixed well with the taste of cheese.

This is a lovely and very local hotel/restaurant. The restaurant is very popular with the locals and those guys that come across is by accident.
We perceive La Catonia as our home restaurant and dine there once or twice a month with friends or family for the last 8 years and never failed. Located at the entrance to the Valle Ferret in the Swiss Alps, 2 kilometers from Orsieres, on a main road to the Italy border, it exists for more than 60 years. Originally it was the custom house motel-restaurant serving travelers from Italy to Switzerland and backwards. It is a causy Swiss family restaurant with a challet type atmosphere, wooden logs embedded in bright plaster walls and ceiling, a fireplace and a lot of a warm, friendly attitude of a team and of the owner, Silvia. The entrance serves as a bar, the internal room as a restaurant. The service and food are excellent as well as a choice of local wines (Petite Arvine, Johannisberg, Mont d'Ore and others) and wines from the neighboring Italy.Selection of starters includes, inter alia, gambas in a whiskey sauce, escargot in butter, smoked trout in a leak sauce. For the main dish you can choose a duck in an orange sauce, game meat (in the hunting season) and a selection of fish dishes, also, naturally, a selection of typical swiss dishes like meat and cheese fondue, all very tasty. The highlight is the Pave, a piece of beef fillet (can select from 200 to 500 grams) served on a preheated slate stone with a selection of grilled vegetables and potato gratin aside, excellent!I highly recommend this family restaurant, even to the visitors on their way to the Verbier ski site, it is a detour of only five minutes from the main road to Verbier.

We have enjoyed Charles and Marieâs hospitality for many years in their previous establishment, so were very much looking forward to seeing them here within the Hotel Mont Lac. Summer is a busy time at the pretty Champex-Lac as it is very popular with walkers. (Plus there are now many other activities like paddle boarding and the double zip lines at the top of La Breya mountain) so this did mean that the small team were run off their feet. The food and wine were delicious and we will be back before too long.

Quai de l' Ours, the new table of Hotel Terminus, offers a simple and seasonal cuisine; authentic flavors inspired by locally-grown ingredients. A dynamic team welcomes you at the bar, in the restaurant or on the terrace from dawn to dusk, in a relaxed at
The place looks very popular and it is certainly well deserved. Simple luminous decor, friendly service and a menu with semi sophisticated dishes, made of good product (many of them variations around Herens beef), that would be successful in any big city... this is a simple recipe but a good one. We had an excellent dinner there and would certainly come back at a next opportunity. All this doesn't come cheap but remains acceptable.
Where to eat Swiss food in Orsieres: The Best Restaurants and Bars

This amazing restaurant, nestled in the Swiss Alps, is one of my favourite restaurants in the Valais. Eating my foie gras was like unpacking a gift wrapped present! Both the embellishments and the foie gras were a pleasure to eat. Then, for my main course, my duck breast was carefully coiled, colourfully decorated, and tasted delicious. Sam, the chef, is meticulous in his choice of fresh, local ingredients which are cooked to perfection and look amazing. He also visited us at coffee time, to say hello and have a chat about our food. So, overall the presentation has a strong sensory appeal making the meal all the more enjoyable. We drank a local gamay wine which went well with the food and was very well priced. I can't wait to visit again!
