Unlike the name suggests, this family owned business does by far not only serve fish - homemade tartar, veal filet and many other delicious dishes. Generous selection of wines from southern Switzerland. Very flexible, fantastic view / directly at the lake! Thank You very mutch...for die schöne Bewertung ;-)Daniele

Kaiserstock is located very remotely in the Riemstalden valley. Most of the food they have on the menu is from the valley and home made. They bake their own bread, have homemade pasta and also the lamb is from the Riemstalden valley. They have a nice terrace with mountain view. My peasant sausage was good and the Rösti were delicious. My orange sabayon and my wife's strawberry dessert were excellent!

Gotthard Motorway Service Area is set amid impressive Alpine scenery 20 kilometres before the Gotthard Tunnel. It is a popular stopping place among travellers and commuters from well beyond the local area, not just because of its beautiful position in the
Being in Switzerland, it's no wonder prices are high. This place was no exception.Euro was accepted on the same rate with Swiss Francs (which is on higher rate).Staffs were efficient but lack of friendliness. Stiff as a stick. I hope the reason was not because of race differences. The meals, however was great. They served beef, and that's great because we cannot eat pork. We have beef spaghetti and beef sausage with fries. All came in large portion. I also tried the bread and a slice of cake (don't remember the name), but taste really nice. Toilet was not free, it cost you 1 Eur or 1 CHF.

We tried the Lodge on a quiet Friday night. They had a special menu with plenty of fish which was quiet interesting. The atmosphere was nice. Easy and relaxed with "city alpine style". Unfortunately the room had nothing to soften noise and many of the visitors were extremely loud and proud of their cellphones. Service was friendly and educated. Not overly fast but they tried to keep up with the crowd and made the best out of it. Food was good. Not overly fancy but straightforward. The lobster bisque had not lobster pieces at all but was very tasty. Handcut fries were far too thin - go see how to do it in Belgium. I think they really tried to make this a special experience but it was well presented food in a mediocre preparation - at least given the 150 bucks for 2 persons. Price to performance not good in other words.

We had a hard time getting into A-Pro with sometimes strange opening hours and usually lots of reservations. At least if you are a bit more spontaneous and don´t reserve months in advance. But - definitely worth the challenge. Very warm an welcoming reception. Friendly, capable service - not as sophisticated and elegant as up in Andermatt - but really warm and nice. We enjoyed the seasonal menu. Good selection of dishes and we chose to start with 3 from the five possible. To make it short we really enjoyed all the dishes quite a lot. Very well prepared and tasty. My only downside was the 1st course where the tuna was not ideally cut and had some poor pieces in it. Rest was really cool and the soup even a new experience. Overall traditional cuisine on high level. They have a few interesting rooms. Unfortunately we missed to get into the "Prunksaal" but the hallway was fine as well - at least we had a window with nice view. Good place. Not cheap but worth the Franken and a beautiful place with very nice people.

We had dinner here on our travel from north to south. Given the date (1st August, Swiss national day) I wasn't surprised that the first level of the restaurant was booked with reservations. We sat inside (due to the weather) and were attentively served by a lady who said she was only filling in for someone and not usually in service. From the point of view she did a really good job and paid attention to details as my gluten intolerance, which I was pleasantly surprised. The food we ordered (vegetable risotto, Wiener Schnitzel) was ok - not that I would travel far to visit here but definitely worth the stop over.

In the center of Altdorf, on a beautiful spot is our historical Restaurant. Enjoy typical swiss food, prepared with lot of passion, on our large patio or in our beautiful restaurant or enjoy a nice cocktail in our stylish bar.
After a complete renovation of the Lehnhof building in the middle of Altdorf, the Restaurant Lehnhof is open again. Gone is the "Kaffeesack" as everyone knew it and it has been incorporated into the new Restaurant Lehnhof as a bar. The two outside terraces were combined into one big one, which we will look forward to in the summer.Inside has been completely redone and modernized, with a fresh look, and lots of wood. The menu card is ok... with the traditional Swiss standard mixed up fare, Leaf salad, Springrolls (?) and Wienerschnitzel, something of everything, for everyone, with no real clear direction. Too bad, because the restaurant with the right menu card could be so much more....We visited many times in the passed and were curious to see how the new chef is. We went during the fall season to try something from the Wild game menu items, the menu surprise was too much of a risk for that price, I don't know why chefs do a menu surprise, as a fellow chef it means to me one thing - Leftovers... We took the Elk (Hirsch) as a main course, not bad, slightly to red for a medium, but it was good. the Mandarin Jus was a bit different not too orange tasting which was good. like I said I had hoped for a bit more from the menu card, not the same dishes as every other restaurant in Kanton Uri serves. Oh well. The service was very good, friendly and informative, the waiter helped us thru the wine card as the first three picks I made were sold out... Needless to say the wine card need to be reprinted and updated, the same goes for the website that shows a copy of the Menu card from May!The kitchen chef came out personally to ask how things were at the end of the evening, a nice touch, but he should have changed his apron before doing so as it was quite dirty from the evenings work.Another minus was hearing the radio playing too loud in the kitchen that you could hear all the way into the restaurant. Its the little things that will make a restaurant great....

Visited this place again after quite some time with my complete family and I must say it was again very good. We could sit outside near the sea and so the scenery was fantastic with the mountains etc. Staff is very friendly and the food - a mix of mediterian and local - was very good. The menu is not too large but they prepare everything fresh which of course is very good. Really enjoyed the evening and for sure will come back.

Visited this restaurant with local friends the food was quite amazing and prepared by staff under training seeking refuge in switzerland .Service was first rate and skilled plus you are supporting and helping people in their greatest need. Had a lovely gratin veggie dish which was very well cooked and tasty .Enjoyed it very much and recommend and it is open until quite late.
