Authentic thai cusine cooked by thai chef's in a relaxed enviroment

Starters, mains and a drink for under £20 was great value. Good service at a very popular place. Just a shame that the vegetable pad Thai which we were told had tofu in didn’t. Will be back.

I find this chain of restaurants overrated. Having said that, they were good with my grandchildren who were with me. The food is quite expensive for what the ingredients are. The floor was a little dirty, though I understand that it is a family place and therefore food is dropped by children.hi hilary, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. your feedback is very important to us + we'd really appreciate it if you could leave some more here - https://www.wagamama.com/contact-usthank you

This was a mixed experience . . . . some of the food was excellent and some was just OK. We had king prawns and Himalayan pork ribs to start. King prawns should be succulent and juicy if they're cooked properly. Unfortunately these weren't, they were slightly overcooked and therefore too dry. On the other hand, the ribs were very nice. For mains we had Everest lamb and Himalayan chicken. The lamb was as nice as I could have hoped for. The chicken was very tasty but a bit too dry for our taste. We ate in the first floor dining area, and we felt that the decor was rather cold, bland, not particularly welcoming. It wasn't an environment that made me feel that I would want to eat there again. To make things worse, the continual sound of cars driving over a loose manhole cover became irritating. (I know that's beyond the restaurant's control, and it may have been be fixed by now). We will go back there again because the food was good enough to make us want to try more. I have a feeling that there is a lot more on the menu that I will like a lot.Hi Mike Graham,First of all, thanks for visiting us and trying our food. From your review, we understand your interest and attention to detail to taste and environment of our restaurant and we value such customers as it give us opportunity to work in these areas. We will take note and we will see what we can do best! About the environment, Old Town is such a vibrant location in Swindon which people actually enjoys to be in this lively place, mostly weekends. We are part of old town culture and as you mentioned we alone do not control the environment. Hopefully, everything grows with you if you do revisit! Hopefully, this won’t put you off as we have lot for you to try from our Himalayan menu! Namaste

Smile Thai Cafe & Takeaway

Great tasting authentic Thai food, probably the best Ivectasted outside Thailand. The lunchtime set menu for £7.50 represents fabulous value. I have the vegetarian option so if you want tofu and vegetables you need to say so and it's an extra £1. That's not a problem but it would help if it said so somewhere rather than finding out by trial and error. Flavours and portion sizes do seem to fluctuate from time to time bug I've not had a poor meal there in 6-8 visits over the past 2 years.

Last minute decision to go out for dinner last night, and agreed on curry. We have been to this restaurant before and would typically be our first choice for curry.Service fast and friendly as always, food great and atmosphere good.Only complaint would be the “tipsy party” (it was only 8.30) who arrived as we were finishing our dinner....vaping in a restaurant, really?? Just no need!!

My wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try having moved into the area recently. The previous reviews on TripAdvisor and the high ranking indicated we were in for a real treat, and our new local indian restaurant. The decor is lovely, but other than that it was all rather average really. Our starters were okay (mixed tandoori and a chicken tikka), but not as nice as most. Our main course were a bit of a mixed experience, my curry was very good indeed, but my wife’s shashlick just consisted of a large chicken tikka starter, no sizzling plate or skillet, just bland with some fried onions. The service was very slow, no smiles, no asking if the meal was okay, just the bare minimum.Sadly I don’t think we’ll return, just not quite good enough really. Not cheap either.

Dessert was fruit spring roll which was really nice. Service was 5 star, can highly recommend Jicsaw, if we are ever in the area again we will definitely visit again.

This was our first time at this restaurant, though we were with friends who use it regularly., We were blown away with the food , it is so tasty. My wife does not eat rice , but she thought everything she had ( no rice ) was fantastic, I try myself at this style of cooking and it has inspired me to go away and try again , though with no chance of replicating the wonderfully tasty food we ate last week. Everybody is so friendly and we were made to feel really welcome. Thank you all for a superb evening.
