We arrived at La Vela Cafe & Restaurant at dinner time with our 2 years old son and we were welcomed welcomed by the friendly staff who run the place. They then took the time to explain the different option of pasta and took in consideration my sons allergies and my food preferences.We all ordered different types of antipasti and mains. We were delighted with the taste of real hand made Italian pasta. We then ended our meal with Tiramisu and Panna Cotta. Highly recommend!!!

nice restaurant with beaxh terrace. we ordered the pizza 4 cheeses. the pizza was thin and crispy but was missing the flavor... according to the menu Gorgonzola should be on it but there was no taste of blue cheese. for dessert we tried Tiramisu and were quite disappointed as this had little to do with Tiramisu the way I know and like it. it was a piece of cake with cake ground, a white cream layer and chocolate on top. completely missing the coffee/Amaretto flavor that makes this dessert so special. The chef who was doing the pasta is Italian so he should know better.Anyhow, place was busy and the service extremely friendly and many customers ordered pasta so maby this is a better choice than pizza.

Really nice restaurant in Sritanu with good french food. The owners are super cool and the restaurant is very easy to find because it is just in front of the 7/11. They also sell clothe and jewellery of their own brand. Another good point is that they serve food until late at night so if you are hungry after a too long aperitif, that is for sure the place where to go in Sritanu... Lovely! In this little town of yoga studios and vegan restaurants, Italian chef and fisherman Francesco Simonetti has built Il Barracuda, the restaurant of his dreams. Friendly and attentive service, great wine, carpaccio that melts in your mouth and, (of course!) grilled barracuda as a daily catch! We added a delicious pizza to round off the menu. Clean, lovely decor and a great synthesis of fresh local ingredients and an Italian flair. Support this young up and coming chef! He is meticulous, attentive and warm! Bravo!

Found this little place by coincidence and left utterly satisfied. The feeling of Italy is everywhere, in the friendly greetings from the sweet hostess, the interior, the appetizers and the large dinner portions, to the espresso served in the end. I ate so much of the delicious chickpeas cream and bruschetta that I had to ask for a bambino-portion of the spaghetti because I didn't want to leave any food behind (which they of course graciously delivered). My friend was happily suprised by the lasagna, as neither of us had ever had this traditional dish from the Abruzzo region before. So tasty! The wine was also excellent, even with only one choice (but the right choice, Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile - I had to come back the next evening only for a couple more glasses). After the meal we were too full to even try the Panna Cotta, so it has to be saved for next time, and hopefully then there will also be possible to get a Limoncello or Amaretto with the espresso (which was the only thing missing on an otherwise splendid, not too big, menu). There are many Italian restaurants on Koh Phangan, but trust me when I say this is The One. Amazing value for money! Thank you for your outstanding service and high quality food. Wandering the solitary wander-able soi in this island treasure the restaurant options are quite remarkable. Five and four star accommodation with associated restaurants rule this small settlement. This effectively raises the bar for the restaurants beyond if they are to lure hotel guests beyond their compounds and they do this rather well. Plus, a walk back to the hotel after dinner provides other options - a drink or a cocktail in a local bar perhaps. There are two fine dining jewels in the street; Valentinoâs and Luna. Both are great but we were in the mood for Italian but not for fine dining so when we came across Thatâs Amore, there was nothing more to do but go in. This restaurant benefits by being the junior partner of the aforesaid Valentino Restaurant and Wine Bar a few meters away. The charmingly polite Burmese staff were informed and articulate. The restaurant was nicely lit in a family sense and spotlessly clean. It felt good and felt Italian village for somewhere quite remote in Thailand. The spaghetti carbonara and the fettuccine Alfredo were both perfect. The garlic bread was well presented and tasty as was the âGreek saladâ that had all the requisite elements. The table had a good selection of sauces oils and condiments for seasoning your meal. The red wine, once it had risen to room temperature (5 minutes or so) was tasty and unspoiled. This a major plus. Ordering red wine in Thailand can be high risk. Keeping it in 30+ temperatures is difficult for a lot of restaurants as they just donât have the capacity. I was even given a taster of the wine which for an average restaurant in Thailand is rare indeed. This is my point. This is definitely not an average Italian restaurant. It is a very good one with incredibly capable oversight and an excellent pedigree. It is therefore ideal for families or couples. We shared a tiramisu, Iâll let the pics complete my review.

What a great dinner we had !! Honestly the best 4 cheeses pizza ever. The perfect balance of cheese and well garnished. We also ordered the Calamari carpaccio as a starter and it was really tasty. Food was fresh and good. Nice setting as well as you face the beach and we had an amazing sunset that night. The owner is really nice and friendly and makes you feel comfortable. Overall I definitely recommend this place !!

This place did not dissapoint! The fresh ingredients used in the dishes were so enjoyable. The fresh made pasta was a delight! Our normally picky children ate everything on their plates, without a peep!!! The chef/owner checked in with us after food was served. The staff were also incredibly kind. Great experience!
