Sunderban Tiger Camp is an escapade in the lap of nature. Located at Dayapur Island, it is a blissful world that shields you from your television, newspapers, Internet and (sometimes) telephone. Established in 2004, it is the flagship property of Waxpol Hotels and Resorts and is situated across the Sundarbans National Park, the largest estuarine mangrove forest in the world. It started as a camp wherein we were providing guests with tented accommodation, which led to the name: Sunderban Tiger Camp. It has been certified by TOFT as a quality accommodation. It is the first Government approved jungle resort in the region and has played a vital role in pioneering sustainable wildlife tourism in the Sundarbans National Park. This eco-friendly property adheres to the island’s sensitive ecology; in the absence of electricity and fresh water, we have successfully thrived with solar energy and rainwater harvesting. The air-conditioned cottages and rooms have hot water 24 hours a day. The resort is uniquely designed and reflects the local culture and flavor of the Sundarbans region. There are 21 well-appointed rooms and the decor makes use of locally sourced materials and incorporates elements of the natural surroundings and local traditions. Our restaurant, The Fisherman’s Wharf, serves a selection of local and international cuisine (on request) and utilises locally sourced ingredients as much as possible. In the evenings, guest can enjoy a sundowner at the Gol Ghar bar.
Classy Deluxe Rooms! Well maintained. The entire team at property was very prompt and actively available to take care of our needs. The food served was amazingly cooked, the portions were generous, reminded us of Home away from Home. Would recommend this property during weekdays too as its very silent and serene.

We planned a vacation to Sunderbans with friends and family and chose to stay at this resort. It is located in jharkali and is reachable by road from Kolkata. The experience was really good. We stayed in cottages which were comfortable and clean. The staff is really helpful and attentive. What stood out was, Sunderban being a remote area, some food items are not always readily available, however the staff never said no and tried their best to procure and cook delicious meals for us. We highly appreciated this gesture. Other than that the lawn and overall decor of the resort is picturesque. It is located very near to the jetty (10 mins by toto). Our stay at this resort away from the humdum of the city was very peaceful and satisfactory, and we would surely plan a visit again.

Solitary Nook has 7 AC Cottages with a king size and 1 queen size bed with bedside table, wardrobe, sofa set and a centre table with a dressing unit.
We stayed in Solitary Nook for 3 nights. The resort is located in Pakhiralaya (Accurately shown on Google Maps). Their boat picked us up from Godkhali ferry ghat. We arranged for a boat ride everyday. (If you are visiting Sundarbans for the first time, this is a must do as boats are the best means for sightseeing in these collection of islands) The boat fairs were reasonable. We took the cottage that is next to the pond and visible on the picture. The room was huge and clean. All basic amentias were provided. (This is also important for staying in Sundarbans as there is not much to do after sunset) The food was good and the team accommodated our last minute requests which delighted us, They served Bengali cuisine and made sure every item is prepared as per our taste. They best part of staying in this resort was the hospitality and warmth of every individual we have spoken to. Especially, Mr. Tapas who was very friendly, polite and courteous. The boat ride was also very well coordinated by Mr. Tapas. He took care of all the paper work and other necessities. We had lunch on the boat, he picked the perfect spot for us! The view was to die for :) Overall, this would be the first place I would book when I visit Sundarbans again. We absolutely loved our stay here.
