At the moment we are on winter holidays - from March 3rd 2018 we are back and open again. We wish you a nice winter and looking forward to welcome you in our Buschenschank in March again.
First time at a Buschenschank and I was not disappointed. Great selection of local home-made produce, a great atmosphere and a great location. It is well worth the effort to go here if you are in the area but check first to see if they are open as their opening hours are seasonal.

We have been here for lunch a couple of times and were actually satisfied. However, quality of food and service was definitely decreasing in the last month. Cannot recommend it anymore.

Great Austrian South-Styrian (Sud-Steiermark) high quality & great tasting food especially the famous Steiermark fried chicken and farmers broad beans in pumpkin-seed oil. There are other good dishes like Cordon Bleu, Pork Schnitzel encrusted in pumpkin seeds, chicken salad, etc. The Gasthaus Jochum is well-known amongst the locals as having the best fried chicken in the region. The place is always fully packed so you must reserve in advance. The service is fast & friendly. There's no public transport around. You need a car to take you here. Highly recommended.

The Jagawirt is perched way up in the wooded sectors and wine regions of west Styrian Reinischkogel. Unlikely as it may seem, this is an aged institution. Moreover, it fulfills every promise it makes.
The food was good, but the service bordered on the unfriendly. We asked where we could purchase the Schilcher Sekt they served as it was excellent and the answer was down the Road. We eventually found the place and it was delightful. Their name is Klug and apart from selling excellent Schilcher, they also sell a lovely chestnut honey and Kuerbiskernoel.Even so the food at the Jagawirt was good, I will not go back as there are many Restaurants near by with equally good food and friendly service.

We were here twice for family lunch. The food is really excellent, especially the venison, but also the old fashioned Backhendl. They breed their own deer in a field and forest close to the restaurant. The prices are not low, but reasonable for the high quality. Much of the food is organically grown. Our waitress was vey friendly and service was fast.
