Gasthof - Hotel With Restaurant
We have been going back to Holzer every summer for at least 6 years now. The restaurant, run by Hubert Holzer and his wife has a beautifully hand written daily menu with a short list of ingenious and delicious dishes. All feature fresh Alpine ingredients, often from their own garden. For 3 years now we have also stayed in the guest house upstairs. The rooms are comfortable, simple, clean and very tasteful. And the breakfast is not to be missed.

We travelled from Vienna to semmering and used the chairlift to gain height then walked downGreat certain for mountain bike downhillWent looking for a restaurant and found hereExcellent lunch excellent setting sitting outsideWent for a walk round the lake at the restaurant.afterwardsGreat day out

When every you are in this area (50 km) surrounding take your time and visit the Krainer Restaurant. I found this restaurant on the web and was surprised to find a high quality restaurant like this one in the area. The location is one the main street - you can not miss it. The design is nice and you will find approx. 40 seats. the service is done be the owners and simply great. If you need any help with Austrian wines, take the chance to ask. You will be surprised about the detailed knowledge of the owner. The sun is the chef - simply a genius - well experienced at the best restaurants in middle Europe. I ordered the gourmet menu and was more than happy. Fresh products, a chef you know how to cook them, right quantity and delicious. The pumpkin soup with a special fresh water fish (Saibling) was very special. Also the pigeon was like a dream. we ordered also a wine degustation which was simple one of the best during the last month. I will come back for sure and suggest everyone how have to go to this area to visit Krainer. It a must if you like to enjoy and unforgettable dinner.

A typical Austrian Gasthof, serving a good variety of Austrian cuisine, a full plate at very reasonable prices.Located on the outskirts of Mürzzuschlag just off the main road to the Motorway, on the way to Honigsburg a very quaint town also worth a visit.
Our lunch at “Gasthaus Lengger” started with a positive surprise: an amazing and truly old bar parlor, whose ceiling rested on a huge and somewhat sagged beam. The dark wooden wall paneling created a cozy atmosphere. The building as a whole seemed to be an unspoiled gem of traditional rural architecture.Tradition also characterized the meat-heavy menu, which comprised several liver dishes, not to be found very often nowadays. However, some concessions were made to today’s cuisine, such as salads with roast turkey breast and pike-perch fillet, respectively. Prices were affordable indeed, given that with a single exception all dishes cost less than 10 euros.Service was friendly and left nothing to desire. After only a moderate waiting time we received our meals. Portion sizes were reasonable, not as excessive as sometimes encountered in countryside restaurants. While the quality of the food was good, it was prepared and presented in a boring manner. It simply lacked seasoning and appeal. That is a pity. With a more professional and creative cook “Gasthaus Lengger” could become a gastronomic gem rather than just an architectural one as today.
