My husband and I stopped here for lunch at the recommendation of a realtor we were working with from Voitsberg. Living in Austria, we eat regularly at various Gasthaus establishments -- the Gasthaus zur Alten Post is a step above! We have returned since that first time and found the food to be consistently good, with promo, friendly service. We recommend it, for sure!

I visited Ritt for the lunch menu, once with my mother and once with the husband. I was very pleased both times. Food came timely, tasted GREAT, Austrian cuisine with fusion tendencies. Good selection of wines, also a big variety for breakfast. Only hiccup, itâs not open on weekends.

Iâve found it increasingly difficult over the last twenty years to find good classic austrian/germanic fare. This family run institution met my expectations and exceeded them.Pleasant location, a few miles out. The staff and local patrons were all quite welcoming. A wide menu for a smaller restaurant, and everything we tried was fresh, tasty and well prepared. We only regret we had no room for desert.

At the end of the day we needed to unload, after checking into our nearby hotel. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was good, with a nicely varied menu.

We stayed in the area for 2 nights, visiting the Piber Stud Farm. This place accepted credit cards , while most local places only took cash, and since we couldn't find an ATM machine, we were really happy to find Lorber! The venue is big, with an extensive menu, and a patio. Service was lovely (German-speaking only) and genuine. This is a traditional restaurant in a tiny town and my teens loved that no one spoke English, we felt like locals. I had a huge "farmer salad", lots of greens(virtuous) with potatoes and bacon(not so virtuous!) , kids had vegetarian-friendly salad and noodles.
Extremely impolite staff, rolling their eyes when calling them. Prices seem resonable but I couldn't say anything else because we weren't served at all, not even drinks for hour and a half. Also no one from the staff don't speak English at all.

Charming restaurant, filled with locals, excellent food! Good value. Pumpkin soup was right out of Gourmet magazine! These squash/pumpkins grown locally here in Styria and topped with its tiny roasted seeds and. Pumpkin oil...special!Highly recommend!

The original Gasthaus dates back well over 100 years and is pretty much intact. Great wines, very well prepared food and great service in this fully family run establishment. Quaint little back garden. This is truly Austrian, truly StyrianThanks for your nice Feedback! Sandwirt!
