Stay in a landmark waterfront building with panoramic harbor views. Laholmen is a year-round hub of activity in the city of Stromstad. With its unbeatable waterfront location, this classic Hotel is a renowned meeting place with magnificent views of the harbor and Koster fjord.
Good place to stay, central, many rooms have sea view, good and varied breakfast with diet alternatives, good parking adjacent to the hotel, restaurant with better than average meals, clean, better than average beds (says the princess on the pea) - all in all a pleasant experience! Strømstad is a pleasant, small seaside town with ferries to some of the nearby islands.

Selater Camping is a quiet and calm family camping, an idyllic setting for those who love nature. The campsite is located in a sheltered area with the forest as nearest neighbor but still near the salty seas and a stunning archipelago. Selaters Camping is located on the road towards Selater/Capri, 3,2 km from the centre of Stromstad. There are 350 campingspots and 69 cabins. Playground, paintball, kiosk, iscream and minigolf. Selater Havsbad is the closest beach 900 meters. Capri is the most beautiful beach in Stromstad it is less than 2 km from the Selater camping.
Peacefull place until I was verbally attacked by restaurant-staff. I was brushing my teeth late at night. I had key for bathroom by reception. As staff was closing up the confronted me and wanted me to leave. Commented on how strange it was that I was there. They insulted me and husbond was ready for psysical confrontation. They were bossing me out of the building then jumped back in their car in very unpleasant and condensating way. As they drove off I was under the impression that I had done something wrong. Then I checked the keycard for toilet and I had acces. So apparently they must have thought I didnt belong there and was NOT a guest. But they didnt bother to ask who I was, just went straight into talking down into very physical threathening manner. What the hell is going on. Stay somewhere else If you want a nice peaceful place in Strømstad. Save yourself from weird abusive restaurant owner and protective stupid (maybe drunk! husbond. Need I say that it ruined my evening and I felt very little welcome after the unpleasant and unwanted confrontation.

Cozy hotel in the heart of Stromstad.
Hotel Krabban is a B&B hotel. The reception is closed in the evening and until 7 am. Our room was basic but had enough space. The mattress was comfortable and we slept well Some rooms have a common toilet / bath in the corridor, but we ordered a room with private toilet and bath. The bath had a shower and a basin. The shower was a mixed type (overhead shower and a handheld shower). I never managed to have the square overhead shower work, so I assume the water-switch need to be replaced. There is a TV and a closet in the room. There is no safety box or a fridge. The breakfast was simple but with fresh bread, ham, cheese, salami and juice or coffee I think most people would be ready for the new day. The location is ideal, but there might be a little bit difficult to find parking directly outside the hotel entrance.

Good and nice hotel that is strategically well located when traveling on the Norwegian/ Swedish border. Nice staff. The hotel needs refurbishment and especially the bathroom is a bit unhygienic. Otherwise, we thrive in the hotel and returns year after year.

They charged us 5 star hotel room price. But there is no way the so called hotel room can be defined as a hotel room. But it was quiet and clean, so for one night only I don't care. But I would not recommend anyone to use their hotel as a "hotel", but as a very expensive hostel type of accomodation.

Lagunen is a beautiful campsite - open all year - by the ocean in the Bohuslän archipelago, on the west coast of Sweden. You can choose to stay in one of our sustainable cottages or bring your own campervan, caravan or tent. When you are in the neighborhood it is a must to visit the magical Koster Islands, surrounded by the only Swedish marine national park. The easiest way to go there, is to get on one of the boats that leaves Strömstad every day the whole year. During summertime we also arrange boat trips from Lagunen. Our beachfront restaurant is open from early spring until beginning October.
We had a very nice time. We enjoyed hikes in the beautiful area and loved the sauna and hot tub in the evening. The cabins were beautiful and clean and the staff was warmhearted and easygoing. Great stay, we will be back!

Got an space for our caravan without booking ahead. Tree beautiful sand beaches, and picked oysters at low tide! Nice shower and wc facilities, and a friendly and service minded staff. If you want a quiet stay fifteen minutes outside Strømstad, this is the place. Shallow waters on the beaches makes this great for the kids who cant swim. We stayed at the camp in high season, and tought the space between campers was a bit short.

It took the no so helpful 'hosts' of this hostel approximately 7 hours to give us the promised sheets. We had to ring them three times to come over and bring it. The double room had a toilet, but no paper. The mattress of the double bed was worn out in the middle. No information about checking out. On the upside: free washing machine and dryer, warm showers (shared). Only slightly cheaper than a hotel room in Strömstad, but much lower service level. If ever in Strömstad, we will not book this again.

Kostergården offers a modern and comfortable accommodation in a quiet and peaceful environment adjacent to Koster archipelago and the sea. We offer 22 cabins of which 5 with sea view and 6 hotel rooms, one of which is a suite and all hotel rooms have sea view over the Kosterfjorden.
New owners, new staff, new concept. I really loved the old Kostergården restaurant and the serviceminded and friendly staff. The new staff is not worse, maybe even a bit better. We went to order a medium priced steak but they were out. Understandable considering it’s the end of season and unexpectedly many guests. The wife and I ordered the Angus burger instead. The burger was delicious looking with shiny bread and tasty garnish. The meat was nothing to jump in the roof over. More like a mass produced meat ball with lots of additives an starch, bought at the local supermarket, like Danish Prime or similar. It was eatable, but nothing like a real burger, made from scratch, on site, by the chef himself. Tip to the chef... make the burger from scratch. I’ll be back to experience the other dishes.
