I know its busy on sunday, but hey, its always bad service there and they should know better.Waiters acted overly superior and seemed to be annoyed because we didnt order much alcohol. OK trolleys of steamed food abounded and we repeatedly pushed around but not many fried offerings, Most of what we chose were cold. ugh. Had to make special; order for cha shu bo, which I thought was a staple. Over all it wasnt too bad. Not too expensive but something was missing as if they just gave up at the end.

New Shanghai Ashfield offers a wide variety of authentic Chinese cuisine, from the signature Shanghainese Xiao Long Bao to prawn dumplings with peanut sauce, pan fried pork buns and includes delicious Shanghai style braised pork belly, Peking duck and ste
Little confusing there are few restaurants all together with very similar names. My Chinese friends had actually suggested another one two doors down but as I had arrived early and waited for the table we had our meal here instead. What was uncanny was that nearly all the customers were European whilst the others next door were fully of Asian customers. I guess because this restaurant has very well design menu that allows us who can't read Mandarin to easily order. Very busy great food and wonderful atmosphere. Well worth the visit. I don't think they take bookings so you must simply wait for your table.

With a couple of mates needing a quick bite of lunch on a Saturday & we wanted to try this new place in Majors Bay Road.We lived in Hong Kong for a couple of years & love Chinese food, especially really good crispy skin duck. Our meal kicked off with house made dim dims & some Shanghai soul dumplings along with some very tasty sauces. Then our chef 'Action Jackson' told us it would be a 15 minutes wait as he prepped our duck.WOW - simply the best Peking style duck we have had since leaving Hong Kong over 10 years ago. It was incredible, superbly rendered fat, super crispy golden skin & accompaniments that were just perfect. Part 2 of our duck was the obligatory san choy bow but so fresh & tasty. Our final ditch was an outstanding fried rice, reminiscent of our favourite place on HK harbour.Seriously, this place is something else. We are heading back next week to work our way through more of the menu but the duck is a must!!!Wheelchair access is completely flat from street level, though I did not check if they had an accessible toilet.

Ho Jiak Strathfield is a modern take on the open-air hawkers of Northern Penang. Think Char Koay Teow overflowing with moreish stir-fried rice noodles, doused in delicious seafood and spicy Chinese sausage, and topped with market fresh king prawns. Or Nas
We came here for an early lunch on a weekday so there wasnât a problem getting a table just outside HoJiak. We had their Char Kway Teow, Har Mee, Laksa Chee Chong Fun, Chicken Laksa and Chicken Wings. They were all very authentic and delicious. I highly recommend the Laksa, Har Mee and Char Kway Teow. One of the best Iâve had in Sydney and even better than many places in Malaysia. The Chee Cheung Fun tasted a bit starchy and the chicken wings needed a bit more spice otherwise it tasted like normal fried chicken wings. I would definitely come back for their noodles and next time Iâll also try their nasi lemak and Mee goreng. Hi there, glad to hear that you loved our dishes! We definitely recommend coming by early on weekdays so you don't have to try to get a seat during the peak lunch hour! Hope to see you soon again!

The Liu Rose is a beautifully furnished go-to place for slightly high end Chinese dishes. While not exactly bland, the less challenging wide variety of tastes seems to be aimed at the type of Chinese food loved by Australians 40 years ago or longer continuing to today. The ingredients are fresh and high quality, presented very well and promptly. The service is professional and efficient without being too friendly. The prices are higher than the basic mum and dad local but not over the top for the quality, service, look and comfort.

I have enjoyed dining at the Homebush Wok Inn for a number of years now. The standout is the consistently-great food. I've probably dined there about 20 times, and have never had a bad experience. The food is fresh, crisp and colourful, and the flavours are wonderful. The meals are very well-priced, too. Recently three of us ordered a shared entree, and three mains - which cost less than $20 per head. The restaurant is always very clean, and I believe it got a 5-star rating when a group of restaurants in Homebush were rated on their cleanliness. Although the decor is simple, the place always seems to have a welcoming and homely atmosphere about it. The staff are always happy and smiling, and are willing to please.Although I have since moved quite a distance and no longer have the luxury of having this restaurant just down the road, it still remains the half-way meeting place for lunch or dinner with friends, or picking up a take-away if I'm passing through the area.A well-deserved 5-star rating!
