Three of us dined here on a fine summer's evening. Nice selection of starters, with a strong Greek theme. We all went for Pizza's as mains, and everyone was happy. The main Seating area (that evening) is open-air in front of the dockside, with the food coming from the actual restaurant across a small street. They had english menus, and were very friendly. Food overall was excellent, and the outside setting was perfect (nice blankets if you got cold).

The organic café is situated at the shore of Lake Malaren close to Strangnas and Enköping. All food served are locally and/or organic produced. Vegetables are picked from the garden beside the restaurang and café. It's a summer café with a marwellous view and possibility to rent canoes and pedalboat but you can also rent it for groups - the year round. Owned and managed by the family Sjostedt.
Absolutely lovely place to visit to eat in the garden or one of the small private green houses. Extremely forthcoming and good service. The shop is disappointment and mainly sell tomatoes.

Vi är en kvarters krog intill småbåts hamnen i Strängnäs. Vårat fokus ligger på lokala råvaror, småskaligt och kvalité från mat till dryck. Hos oss finns personlighet och omtanke.
Edsbacka Bistro is probably the finest restaurant in Strängnäs, at least they think they are as you can see from the extremely high prices. I looked forward to going here but was a bit disappointed.
LOCATION - I had envisioned it would be in a very nice location right on the water but in reality it is located across the street from the harbor area, the water is only in the distance, cars are driving right by you as you sit on the patio. There are several other places in town at least in the summer with much nicer locations. Convenient because it's in centrum and near the marina but not that attractive of a location.
DECOR - The patio dining area was a big disappointment - it could be at any pizzeria in Sweden - absolutely simple with nothing at all special about it. They did have blankets which was at least nice, but only one blanket per table. Inside it looks much cozier - very small and pretty nice classy environment. Kind of a nice looking bar too, but nowhere to sit there. The tableware was good, particularly the Riedel stemware.
MENU - We were there for lunch. The menu overall was disappointing - very plain and ordinary for the most part and expensive - Entrecote with Bearnaise for 295 Kr., Caesar Salad for 155 Kr, Steak Tartare with nothing special about it, combined with a few different, if not necessary enticing dishes, like calf liver, oxcheek, and Gäddfärsqueneller (Pike Fish Balls). I ordered Poached plaice for a whopping 325 Kr ($50.00).
FOOD - We ordered the plaice, fish balls, and scallops, plus a taster of Skagen. The fish balls were interesting and pretty good. The plaice was very simple - well made but a bit tasteless. The scallops were served raw with sorbet which was odd - being raw, the scallops tasted nothing, so mostly it was sorbet for 175 Kr. It wasn't bad, it just didn't taste anything. Interesting to try though. The star was the skagen - it was outstanding, maybe the best I've had. Overall, good, not great, and for the prices you'd expect better.
SERVICE - I felt like I was at a kebab or pizzeria, and not at a fine restaurant. The very young gentleman serving us was quite poorly trained and somewhat inattentive, though nice. I certainly expected more for the prices and reputation of the place.
Overall, we spent a whopping 1300 Kr ($200) on lunch for 2 people. 1 appetizer, 2 dishes, and a couple glasses of wine each. No dessert, only a tiny taster of skagen. For this, we were satisfied, and had an enjoyable lunch, but I wouldn't go out of my way again. The ultra-casual service and decor and mostly regular food just didn't justify the expense in my mind.
Maybe if I lived in Strängnäs with limited options, I would enjoy it more, but coming from areas with better options for less money, it's hard to want to make the road stop again anytime soon.

Went here with some Sushi lovers, and they all had a good choice. As a non-sushi person I was concerned, but I had nothing to worry about as they had a good selection of Japanese food other than Sushi. Very friendly service, with minimal fuss.
Deep fried ice cream was the winner for the choice of sweets.

When travelling on the roads in Sweden outside the greater city areas you often find yourself starving because all you have to chose from is pizza, hot dogs, kebab och burgers. Boring!
And then there is Emma Grön, is treat indeed. Well thought out, well executed food made from mostly local produce. Ambitious food making in the middle of nowhere.
Live long and prosper!

We visited the Cafe three times for coffee on our stay in Strangas and enjoyed the quality of the cakes every time. Its certainly one of the better places we had food out and would suggest you give it a try.
Its popular with the locals and specialises in cakes - but you can get meals/salads.
However its opening times on the weekend are shorter than during the week and I think it closes even on a Saturday afternoon at something like 3:30pm

We were warmly greeted and offered a buffet with few but very tasty Thai dishes. We sat indoors upstairs and took seconds, the vegetable spring rolls and beef in black pepper sauce were especially mouthwatering. Cute garden with huge shading parasol and a nice view of the sailing boats in the marina!

Housed in an old farm house, we had a nice lunch in the courtyard. I had a root vegetable soup with ginger and aioli followed by a tastefully prepared Caesar salad. My wife had a good liver pate Sandwich.
This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Strangnas, where we come frequently to visit my mother in law. Perfect cafe lunch!

Excellent menu for all and a neat and clean place! The only negative part is all the plastic they use to package your food, not healthy at all and they should change it!
